Idk, Rush played so defensively, no scouting at all. Royal "outmacroed" him because he just expanded and Rush never scouted and punished it - or expanded himself. With 5v3 bases, of course you win in the long run unless you are putting your rally point into the enemy tank line and never move it again. | ||

I don't mind mirror mu finals as long as it isn't PvP... The ZvZ finals we had some seasons back was one of the best finals we've had and this TvT one was fine, not great, not bad. And the one between Sea and Flash was pretty fun although lopsided. | ||

Frontal assault, drop and expanding at the same time just kept Rush off balance. Also the way Royal did his builds and mixed in some cheese was a really nice way to keep his opponents off balance throughout the series. I thought Soulkey actually played better games in the semis but Royal did play a better series. In the finals I thought Royal was outplaying Rush for most of the games and it is a very well deserved ASL champion imo. Yeah, he was a bit lucky with the brackets but the way he played in the 2 big series he showed himself to be a great player. Gonna be really interesting to see how far he goes next season and what else he is gonna do with Terran, it is rare that Terran has creative players like this. | ||

Royal underperformed a little bit. JYJ currently on a huge slump. And Light, seems like he hasn't been back in shape since the last ASL. Lack of practice, busy with the university thing, maybe even lack of motivation after finally winning ASL as well. | ||

Ro16 he had tough group, and Soulkey is the best zerg (or at least best ZvTer) in 2022. | ||
