Still a good chance Rush can run 3 games back. Great backstab putting Rush all in with Lurkers morphing in just in time

Terran should build another bunker or wall-in by scvs at his ramp to win game 3.

I disagree. Rush had a clear and well thought out game plan. He was only seconds behind his timings twice. Give credit to Soma for excellent play. Soma made no mistakes. Soma had god level play as I've said before in this thread. Sure Rush made some gambles that didn't work. That doesn't mean it was terrible. He waited for 4 valks but he didnt know how fast Soma's excellent Lurker switch was. If Soma had made a few more mutas it would've been the best choice. The backstabs are hard to deal with in many games but a lot of the time it results in a zerg loss. Show me a series where a zerg wins like that twice in a row at the ASL level? Soma had his number today. That doesn't take from away Rush's game plan. It just didn't work out.

Didn't expect Rush to drop 3 straight though. I hope JyJ can keep his excellent form and deliver for us Terran fans. We haven't had a Terran champion since Light in the KSL.

Great backstab putting Rush all in with Lurkers morphing in just in time Looks like everything went according to plan! I didn't anticipate his lurker use so early, but Soma did a great job anticipating Rush. This ASL is Soma's to lose. SK has inferior ZvZ and Rain definitely has his biggest weakness in PvZ. Action may do okay in a ZvZ finals versus Soma. Light has been on a downward trend in TvZ. It's really weird to say, but Jyj might have the best Zerg match up out of all the remaining players.

And then Soma takes it in the finals with 5-2 against Light. Conditioning on rain beating soulkey (which I don't expect him to) I think he actually has a great chance against Soma since that will indicate his pvz form is very strong. Pvz is def not rains best mu, but he occasionally looks very strong in it -- i.e. rain v queen in ksl 4

Sometimes I see a bit of weakness in Rush's play and that is his army positioning. His marines are in the middle of the map , doing nothing ![]()

I get that he was trying to bust SoMa and it was very close on last two games but he made critical same mistakes on both games by not walling, blocking backstab from zerg. If he made bunker on 2nd game he could hold lings and maybe even mutas and on last game he didn't even pull SCVs to repair bunker. Sad to see the new hope of terran, Future of Terran going out like this... We can only hope we'll get to see the present of Terran get eliminated by falling for an overlord bait twice in a row like he did last season.

Light is terrible against Zerg compared to where he was 4+ years ago. Action is a really tough late game opponent in ZvT. His hive tech skill is top tier.

To be precise: Light is terrible against zerg in bo. offline matches. Action has horrendious record against Light online, more so just recently. Also if wedding wont cause too much distraction, Light has turned of his stream for now in order to practice. So even with current mappool and offline chocke I don't think its going to be onesided match.

Either way I must trust Light is going to give Action hell. I will be really surprised if Light doesn't take at least 2 games off of Action. And if Light loses I think he's more to blame than Action is to praise. That said l love Action and hope he proves me he is ASL champ worthy. He has it in him. At one point Flash feared Action so much he got Action on KT. That always plays in my mind when Action is up for a ZvT Bo5. I mainly think of Light and Action as Bo1 players though. It should be fun and I'm hoping for fireworks.

How did rush expect to hold either of the back stabs starting with essentially 4 rines at his nat vs at least 8 mutas + Ling's... Rush wasn't quite decisive enough and just got played by soma. He couldn't know if soma was gonna defend or backstab and as soma was able to delay Rush's attacks and get his defense up Rush simply made the wrong decision. If he had attacked before lurkers he could've come out on top of the base trade situation. Or if he had pulled back and played defensively into a bigger macro game he was in a pretty good situation still. I think somas aggressiveness made Rush mistime things just enough and soma was really ontop of his micro and positioning in a lot of the battles and Rush just got smashed. Considering how Rush was ahead at times and still got smashed I think this series shows a lot about what a fantastic game BW is. I am disappointed in how short and one sided these games felt, but I really liked the series for other reasons. Showing of decision making and timings and positioning vs. build order and planned strategies. I think these games really showcased a lot of nuances and parts of what makes Starcraft the best e-sport ever.
