Maybe he feels like losing the Defiler Mount is the end game, or he thinks Snow is already on 7 base or something, or he's just tired from playing turtle all game long. This is one of the longest UBE series I've ever seen. Every game is like 20-30 minutes. No wonder a player like Soulkey wants to call it quit (he decided to not participate in ASL11 because of a lack of motivation). | ||

I never say anything based off of one match or one series. Note that I said *particularly* great. That means I'm still calling him great. Snow still has a reputation of being a v T sniper, a v T God. My point is Snow, relative to his skill, is not substantially better against Terran than his skill would otherwise dictate. I think, nowadays, he's nearly as good vZ than he is vT. Sharp, Royal, Light, Rush are all excellent v Protoss, and I wouldn't say Snow has a significant advantage -- again, relative to his skill -- over any of them. (Sharp is someone who is better vP than his relative overall skill.) Game 6 of this series is a good example. I don't think Snow "should" have lost that game. His observer is in the base and sees Royal prepping for a timing attack... presumably, anyway. He certainly *had* the opportunity to see it, let's say that much. So why is he taking a 4th literally right as Royal is launching an attack? I don't necessarily think taking the 4th is suboptimal in that situation, though; the real issue is he was caught out of position and thus wasn't even able to delay the move out in any way. That was really sloppy from Snow and is not something I think we see from him a few years ago. Especially considering that Royal was being very aggressive all series long. Of course, it was great execution from Royal, too. Anyway, after this game we finally see Snow adjust and say, "Okay, if Royal is going to keep up early game aggression and cheese, I'm going to prepare for and counter it." The series was great, and culminates in Snow going for 3 gate obs. This is where Royal fucked up: he should've read the in-series meta correctly and realized his early aggro builds are now getting snuffed out. Instead he goes for another early attack, which is predictable by this point, and gets baited by Snow's 7 goons standing on the high ground and gets demolished. | ||
