I agree with you, if you believe that the investment in the double shuttle against the macro terran of the world (other then flash) was a bad idea.

But I don't think his early game or mid game allowed that.

Yeah, I think that would have been a valid and logical use.
Instead of committing them to the main, maintain them for the first big skirmish.

Two more shuttles of zealots in the big showdown or in the final smaller one could have made a difference.

Carriers are pimp if you can get them before 3/3 for terran.

2 base carriers would be the most legit build imo. You really need to not let terrans get a comfortable 3 base macro going otherwise they can leapfrog to you in 10 seconds

Totally.

I think a well timmed 3 base terran push might be niegh impossible to beat without a really clever gimmick.

you can totally turtle on your main/natural and island base into carriers if its not vertical spawns.

Cross positions changes things a lot.

I think holding ground in the center maybe incredibly easy for terran regardless. Sea played very fluid too, so maybe his smooth showing is tainting my perception.

The thing with close spawn is that Sea can go for a really fast pre-carrier timing vs 2 base carrier.

I need to watch the game again to see how Free could have gone away with a win.

1 sunken and u were there. I dont understand why he didnt built a sunken. He had both economic and tech advantage. That was too greedy.

Sea vs Free was beautiful to watch. Glad to see Free playing different style, much like a Jangbi shuttle aggression.
