instead of having people pay to play you should sell stuff like custom icons or something for tournament money, just a suggestion

most people probably won't play cash tours in the summer i think. the date makes it impossible for me personally. i don't mean to be negative, just don't get discouraged if there isn't much interest at first. activity always seems to ebb during summer. ~_~
|
|
Haven't played in a while but definitely playing this. Gogo bw
|
I won't win but I'm seriously considering playing anyway. It's just one dollar. :D
|
im with you voddy. its going to be fun at the least i will try to make it in time
|
I would play, but I don't like to take other people's money. I will watch if there's a cast though.
|
then win and make more tours
|
im not playing bw atm, but $1 is nothing, if ppl cant shell that out to increase activity thats pretty sad. good organizational effort

If I don't play it won't be because of the one dollar
1$ is very little for all of the losers, but 10$ is a few sandwiches for the winner. :D
|
I'll maybe play if i find a dollar somewhere on internet accounts :-dd

What you guys think? if we get bigger tourneys, and make it possible for other players to pay in for old gosus, could we see them more?

the 1dollar tourney only attracted ~8ppl, and now the price is 5 times bigger, I keep my thumbs up, but I fear the worst.
|
i also think 5$ is too much, i really doubt id bet 5 on myself xD in my opinion you should go step by step and make it 2$ one to see what happens. anyway i hope more people sign up, last one was fun

![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/7V8W4SG.png) replay of game5 is corrupted, so it's not shown in grid and I cant upload on iccup or repdepot, here it is game5 download
About the comments of $5 (~3,6 euro) being too much, well it's ridiculous in my opinion. If ppl not willing to spend 5 miserable dollars to play for cash prizes it's better not to host these kind of tours at all.
Remember I'm making these tours for you, not for me or to gain money. from each transaction paypal keep the 3,4%+$0.35 and the 10% reserved quota doesn't cover these fees for registration money under the $5 (in the first tour I received $0.66 from each dollars, in the second I received $4,45 from each $5), means I lost my time and my money actually, but I'd love to say I've invested them for something funny!
I'll make few more tournaments, but if you are just not interested I'll use my energy in something different. I'm open to suggestions about kind of tours and starting time.
Regards

Ouch, Face, you need to be a bit more accepting of feedback. You have the start of something cool here, but aggressively defending your opinion is a quick way to really damage it. Don't take it so personally
|
In my opinion changing dates and times is not good idea, i thought it was tomorrow 100%, ye still my fault but hey.. xd Even if i knew about it i would had missed it because its a really bad time for me. If you are doing it for the community and see that 1$ fee has more people than 5$ something its obvious, in my case i think about my odds and its not worth with 5$ but they are ok with 1$. i know paypal take taxes but if we have more players playing is funnier. I suggest trying with a 2$ tour or another 1$ so people gets to know the tours more and they can get encouraged to play. i was just trying to help, sorry if im mistaken, as i said at beginning is just my opinion.
|
i suggest to get a cast for the tournaments. this usually tend to motivate people to participate (my mind). you doing a great job face and i like your effort, keep it up!
|
1$ max until there shows more promise in numbers for the tour is the best method, and agree about getting casters
|
"If ppl not willing to spend 5 miserable dollars to play for cash prizes it's better not to host these kind of tours at all."
Unless you have a chance of winning, you're playing for fun, not prizes. Not everyone can afford to throw away $5 every week. Even if you can afford it, that doesn't mean it's worth the money. I don't know many people willing to spend $5 to play 2-3 games of Starcraft.
If I sign up for each of your tournaments, that's $20/month. That's more than the cost of a monthly subscription-based game like WoW plus a subscription to Netflix combined. All for the chance to play 10-15 games of Starcraft, which I can go do for free instead. I don't know why you'd expect anyone to sign up.
|
Face. Don't let the second tour get to you. Keep working at it! Maybe you'll get some extra sponsers to help make the prize more appelling to other players ^^ GL Face.
|
i recommend a $1 buy-in again and hopefully some donations will occur to attract more people

lolllllllllll
Also, how did glarex take two games away from trutacz? I hope the next tour is like, trutacz vs chrisolo or someone bad, and then it's 3-0 and everyone is like "Damn, I bet all my money on chrisolo."
|
1lose - tvp 2lose - funny all in

On June 29 2014 10:42 castleeMg wrote: i recommend a $1 buy-in again and hopefully some donations will occur to attract more people I second this... 1 dollar can attract someone like me to play just for fun, but putting in 5 dollars for me would be just throwing away too much money since I have 0% winning chance.

Like I've explained the minimal registration quota able to cover the paypal fees is $5, I'm not going to host cash tournaments for less and I don't even see a logic reason to. (pay $1 to win ~$5 (if 8 players) giving ~$3 to paypal is ridiculous)
I want to remind we get more players doing normal tournaments, this special kind of tour is for people who asked to Pay Per PLAY, but I also think these tours are funny and give more motivation to players, so I wouldn't give up so early.
I understand, who doesn't arrive in final can see this as a wasting of money (which is not true), anyway we can give an incentive with an appropriate remuneration to all the players who will register:
iCCup Administration will pay back in storegolds the amount of dollars you pay to register for Cash Tournaments, so you don't feel as "wasting" your money if you not gonna win!
$5 are ~equivalent to 54 storegolds (named cups in russ) ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/tag0vpM.png) You can use them in the STORE and buy for example ~500 ladder points (the top200 written in the desc is not updated, correct is top100)
The features actually available in the STORE for StarCraft are:
- Sc Points (SC tab)
- Starcraft transfer (SC tab)
- SC Clearstats (SC tab)
- SC unmute (SC tab)
- Flag, change the flag only not server icon (DotA AllStars tab)
note: Pro Account, Ladder Armor, Ladder Bonus don't work for starcraft
In this way registering Cash Tournaments you have the chance to win more money+points, you can buy ladder points or whatever available in the store and you give a little sponsor for further BW events.
Let's see how the next tour goes!

Buying points on a ladder system......totally negates the legitimacy of the system.....Now I wonder really how many people have boughten there way to a+ or olympic rank....has this option always been available? I don't remember it in the past...

isn't there any way to avoid the transaction fees of paypal? i remember losing tens of dollars just by distributing gambit cup prize money among team members. it's pretty ridiculous.

You can buy ladder points? I'll sell 20-0 or 30-0 id's to anyone, shoot me a price

No.. There is not. Either the sponsers has to pay fees to send the money or the fees are deducted at the time of the transaction which does suck .they used to beable to gift funds without fees but they remove that I believe-.-

Actually I am pretty sure that you can still choose an option in the settings of paypal which allows you to not have any fee's taken out.... http://www.insulators.info/general/paypal.htm ... not sure if this is still available, but last time I used paypal, it was.

I think you should give this another try after summer and world cup is over. Bw is inactive enough as it is without summervacation&world cup going on. Im sure you will get more players on some other time. I also agree with the idea of having a caster for theese events.

more of these tournaments pls! x.x

Tournament post poned after ALC tour (~1 hour)
|
Tour deleted, looks like ppl are not interested to pay per play. Cash Tours Feature aborted.
Feel free to to sponsor directly the iCCup BW section for Tournaments and Show-matches.
Best Regards
|
if i'm gonna donate anything to a tour... i want to play in it
|
We had few ppl who donated > 100$ for specific tournaments: creating themselves the tour and giving the money to iCCup Administration in this way making the cash guaranteed and getting a decent advertising coverage on the server; or just giving the money and the idea of the tour to Admins letting all in our hands.
We would be happy to make tours even for low cash prizes ($10-30), we just need donors.
Unluckily the ppl willing to donate for random events can be counted with one hand.

the problem is actually the payment method iccup is using. maybe you could make it so, that with 5 dollar deposit one gets 5pay-ins to prized tournaments. Then paypal's fee would be only paid once, and iccup can also take it's small fee (if it really needs to.. why can't the amount be in the same prize pool which the payer is playing and paying for, if it's going to be used as prizemoney anyways?)
