That depends... Different countries have different laws. Exactly where are the files stored? There may be nothing illegal with the tracker. If it were stationed in Sweden, I know for a fact that there would be nothing illegal with it ;o.

Thats not really the arguement being used. If a person downloads from the tracker, then they arent watching the korean stations, they arent visiting the ongamenet website, and those places arent selling ads (This is unrealistic because a majority of people who visit this site dont live in korea, and would just watch it on tv if they could). If a person downloads the wcg replays from an outside source, then they dont visit the wcg website, and wcg doesnt get to sell as many ads (unrealistic again, because the vods/replays are released late, the website lags horribly, it replays music on every page load, it has almost no sc related news (I'm saying almost no because the only news I could find mentioned starcraft maybe once in a page full of pr), is poorly organized - especially when contrasted to the other games shown at wcg, had a video stream that was pretty much unusable (despite waking up at rediculous hours, I still have not been able to watch it live from the wcg website), has a poor site navigation that makes it difficult for the user to find what he wants, seemed that wcg placed less importance on sc than it did for the other games).

Its actually harder for a person to find an outside source. People will want to visit the wcg website, because it is official, and its pretty obvious to find. There has to be some major issues, for a majority of people to visit another site. There were some very good things, such as the casting that went on with wcg. But the website needs to be better designed ( easier to navigate, better organization, able to handle the number of visitors it is receiving), the wcg staff needs to communicate more with the sc community, and it needs a more straightforward, professional aproach, at least in the sc department.

I dont even know why I have posted this, some people seem set in their ways, and I dont have a good faith belief that anything will change no matter what some members of the community point out. Im still a little tired from little sleep, because I was trying to follow what was going on with wcg.

I did like the brackets on the website though, and visited it few enough times, that the constantly refreshing music wasnt annoying. It was well designed, easy to read, and easy to get to from the front page.

if wcg wants more traffic on their site, maybe they should make a reppack themselves and find a way to include every single game including any tiebreaks.
