Please read below. There have been some MAJOR changes!
THE BIG CHANGE: This is going back to true D-/D/D+ ONLY.if you have hit C- at ANY point you'll be ineligible this time around. In case of seemingly strong players without ladder results they will be evaluated by a committee consisting of myself, and several others (TBA). It's subjective, but that is how it's going to be done.
It hasn't been an issue in the past but I want to be abundantly clear. If you have been C-/C/B/A++ at any point, do NOT post your max rank as D+ xxxx pts. This applies to any account. If you've been 5000 pts on one account, but only 2700 on another your max rank must be posted as 5000.
Failure to read and follow this properly will result in a permanant ban from ALL future D Ranks events.[/big]

There will be 32 players, Dual Tournament style groups.

After that, the 16 players will be randomly seeded into a single elimination bracket.

SEMIFINALS: Saturday, Feb 01 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
FINALS: Saturday, Feb 15 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)

Channel op DRIT @ ICCup is common meeting place, but any server can be used
Who can play:
This league is only for D-/D/D+ rank players who are willing to participate consistently. This means MAX RANK. On ANY account. You cannot signup with a D account if you have been yellow or higher on another.
You may ask to play even if you don't fit the criteria and we will review the case.
**The exception are players with previous DRTL/DRIT entries. Most of these players are exempt for having to inform me of their situation as I already am aware.**
How to sign up:
You can indicate your interest by posting your:

Highest Max Rank achieved on ANY account
Race/Matchups: (Please just use letters, ie. TvZ/PvT instead of the tlpd icons. It's much easier to read)

New Players to DRIT: Please include your ICCup account name that has at least 20 games played, minimum 10 replays at least 10 minutes long PM'd to LMaster. Your TL account must also be older than the start of this thread with minimal exceptions. The decisions by the admins for your entry are final.

It's a replay problem. There's not a single replay regarding any of the finalists' games. Also, the semi-finals were casted, just can't remember whether Nina or Lmaster casted them.

Ditto what Sync said. I got reps from Stardom for semi-finals and casted that, but I was unfortunately unavailable to do a livecast of the finals the way I preferred to...however no one ever submitted reps from the finals or third place match.

The final hasn't been played. The day it was scheduled for Iccup was down and I haven't been able to contact pebble since. I emailed drits5 my semifinal matches and those have not been casted to my knowledge. I know stardom was interested in live casting the finals so if pebble still wants to play that would be cool.

sorry about lying about my max rank. i made c- in 2008 when i was playing a lot of bw. I quit bw and have lost all my apm and skill since then. i put D as my max rank because that actually reflects my skill level at the moment, as you can see on my iccup record LINK, and i really wanted to participate and knew that putting c- there would nullify my chances of playing.

You hit C- in a good run in this 300+ games season. In your case, l_master shoud just watch replays of your drtl games this season and judge your skill level. I consider players like stardom, napoleon, comsat better than you and they were allowed in the previous DRIT, based on the fact that they didn't reach C-.

I understand the sentiment...but no.
Reasoning is twofold. First, it forces me to be completely arbitrary on skill judgements, and I have zero confidence in my ability to discern the difference between someone who can get to 2900 pts with 300 games, or someone that can get to 3050 pts with 300 games. More importantly, by definition a player that can hit C- is too strong for this league. Fabiano can hit C- with 300 games on a good run, the other players in this league cannot, ergo he is not eligible. Unfortunately, I still have to use some arbitrariness in players with insufficient ladder games who I feel are "too strong", but if they disagree with my decision they can always go ladder 100 games and show me the error of my ways.
The other reason is that cases like Fabiano are precisely how we got to C- RTL in the first place. If I allow Fabiano in with 300 games and touched C-, what about the guy that got there with 289 games? Then when I include him, how can I justify excluding the 270 game C- guy? It just becomes and endless slope, and a line must be drawn at some point. That line is having ever touched C-.
EDIT: As I've said before, until (if) StarServer is upwe are fairly stuck with the ICCup system, which as far as a judge of skill goes is fairly shitty but nonetheless the only objective measure we have to work with.

The reason echo doesnt ladder is because he always disconnects at end of games and has to relog to iccup. Imagine how frustrating laddering would be if you never get points when laddering. (and would have to manually report every single game played)

Way too many logistical problems with this unfortunately.
Only way I'd accept is if players a,b,c, and d are all okay with moving the group to a different day and time. (i.e. instead of 11am on 18th 11am on the 9th)

Anyway, I think your reasoning makes sense. It's probably best to cut off all C- players, and then also remove players who have produced such good winrates that they most likely would reach C- if they just played a bit more.

As for this one, the problem is a number of signups. Unless it's 16 or 8, it's unfair to give certain players byes while making others play their games. We can't create players out of thing air, and we can't forbid players to play, so there's that.

EDIT: I was waiting for Iway for half hour after the time he said he'd play yesterday and the other two finished their game in the meantime, so we all made the collective decision to move on with the group without him. I don't necessarily like doing it but I'd waited half hour and we thought It'd be best to carry on without you rather than making everyone wait around, especially since they'd finished their game.

Yep that was part of it, as was this being first week of classes and family trip during the weekend making it hectic.

No, that is being ridiculous. People are not expected to live on teamliquid and check the forum every 2 min, so a day is not sufficient notice for a PP. That's why both must agree.

Aww, come on, I barely play neither, it's just for fun. Besides with a TvT Bo7 our ZvP was going to be like the real finals. If you considerate it I'm here, or at least for a Bo1 on Blood Bath?? :D

You should definitely play it, practice or no. Sucks to start a tourney and then have the guys that actually win just no show and leave the end of the tourney uncompleted

I'm happy that I managed to make it to the finals in my second ever individual tournament and Fantasy didn't have a career without Silvers either so it's all good and I lost to some things I certainly know to look out for in the future so it should help me improve some more <3
glhf in your future games and if we meet again in a tournament some day I'll have my revenge match <3

I'm not sure if it takes a while to appear on the calander of there's a different one for non pro events but I can't see it currently. Look forward to watching them <3 If it's 15CET, are you on savings time yet or will it still be 2PM for me? :o (I'm on GMT)

Yeah, you have to wait for mod approval for a calender event to show up. As for Daylight Savings Time, pebble is Italian.

I haven't played Sniper Ridge in about 4-5 months o_o. I'm still not C-, but I keep coming very close to beating max rank C/C+ people now. I just keep losing to peruvians doing their wacky builds. If I could just beat them, I think I'd be C- at this point, I mean I did hit 2900 about 5 times last season :p
EDIT: Although saying that I'm playing really bad at the minute.
