Well, I just saw the vods. So Jangbi cheesed in three of the games and lost the only game where he played straight. I'm sure glad I didn't stay up for that. The last BW final (if it's really the last one) was also one of the worst.

I wonder if some major organization in Korea tried to start a league if Blizzard would even allow it. Probably would shut them down or incorporate fees to make them give up.

Anyway! The games were decent enough but the fans and legendary players made this finals a great one.

Most people believe Blizzard is to blame. The wanted more control and profits over their game, and BW is no longer generating them profits given how much user control there is and how cheap the game has gotten. So KeSPA was forced to turn all the progamers to SCII.

Which is ironic because it was user-created content that saved one of their main games- Warcraft III. It was the independent idea of enterprising Koreans to keep Starcraft alive and vigorously growing until the advent of SCII.

Blizzard meets every definition of being an overly capitalistic, short-sighted, self-serving, ignorant, greedy enterprise.

Too bad they are digging their own grave.

SCII is relatively far less popular that SC, and LoL is now the more popular broadcast game.

Hopefully once the capitalist society crumbles, we can get better video games =\

Jaedong was confirmed in the crowd. I saw the camera pan to him twice. No clue on Bisu/Flash, but chances of Bisu being there should be extremely high considering it's his teammate playing and he most likely helped him prepare for the finals. I'm completely lost as to why Jaedong and Flash weren't on stage. Bisu never won an OSL though. All his golds came from MSL. So, I can understand why he wasn't up there. Then again, Yellow was there lololol

Oh yeah, thought I did see jaedong.

Hmm strange. I didn't consider maybe they only considered OSL legends instead of MSL or such. But I would think they would invite them either way. Maybe jaedong/elky/grrrr weren't there because the crowd was too big and they couldn't get to the front fast? ;D

Most likely they weren't asked and it was a spontaneous kind of thing, or they declined/left before that. And Jaedong being left out for not being an OSL legend would make no sense at all. The guy has a golden mouse, and is 1 of 3 players(incl Jangbi) to have won back to back OSLs.

Pretty bad finals, Jangbi cheesing was pretty anti-climactic and I still think Fantasy is the better player

Oh, good points. Would have loved to see grrrr and elky up there ;; lol. If it was spontaneous I'm guessing they just asked for all progamers to come up, I don't think they announced names or anything before they came up.

Also I forgot this but yellow was playing SC1 longer (around a year) than Boxer has, so i guess it makes sense yellow played better than boxer. (And of course boxer may not have been able to play/practice too well cus he didn't want to irritate his shoulder problem).

Jangbi cheeses in pretty much every game he plays..

Didn't July said once that a BO5 is mostly mind game?

Jangbi won both OSL by outsmarting his opponents. That include his BO3 against Flash. If he had been playing autopilote mode macro games, he would have died to both Flash and Fantasy, every time.

People have to understand that "cheese" is a part of Brood War. And for Christ sake, dt opening is not even a cheese. It's like, one of the main opening toss can chose at the beginning of the game. If, as a terran, you are dumb enough not to build detection at all, you deserve to lose. And if you don't smell anything fishy, maybe you should reconsider your scouting, or admit you got outsmarted.

I seriously hate this bitter attitude. It's also the same people that complain that toss never win that get mad because a toss player choses to play something else than textbook blind macro bullshit (that incidentally happens to die to 200/200 3-3 terran balls microed by stellar S+ class players, for some unknown reason).

And for people who say that this serie sucks because we didn't see maxed army clashing each other out of 75 gateways / factory, I would like to remind you that one of serie that really will stay in all our memories, one of the most unnforgettable moment in Brood War is Boxer bunker rushing Yellow three times in a row. That is history.

Blizzard's legal action was likely the death blow, but they were dealing with other issues before that such as the match fixing scandal attacking their integrity and just the general decline relative to other games. Its likely BW would have lasted longer if Blizzard never stepped in, but in all honesty it didn't look like it was going to last forever anyway. It would still have LoL, SC2, WC3, DotA2 and the all those new Korean based games to deal with anyway. Blizzard is an easy targe, but there were a number of issues that were not being addressed which contributed this.

Also, they acknowledged Savior in the video? I thought he was stricken from the record and banished to outer rim.

Because when you have a wall, you don't build units. Fanta had like 3 marines and a tank, without a wall that's food for goons.

Can you elaborate on why you think it's a problem that Jangbi won three games not in the way you think he was supposed to play?

+You are suppose to do w.e. in your possibly to kill the power of the robo with your unit once scouted or just simply place turret at the freaken correct position on the outskirt of the base and not on the mineral lines so that you may 1. scout what the fuck is going on and 2. have couple of more seconds to react properly to such rushes.
