For anyone who caught the beginning of game 1: was it BBS vs 3hatch before pool? I tuned in sort of as the bunker rush was underway and didn't catch the build orders. Just how bad were the odds?

I don't know if it was exactly BBS, but canata had a forward rax as well as the one in his wall, and Jaedong did 3hatch before pool.

Yes, BBS. JD saw a late rax and assumed CC first, so he went for 3 hatch before pool. His overlord spotted the center rax as the bunker rush began.

it was BBS vs 3 hatch b4 pool, however 1 rax was at Canata's base (bottom right) and the other was proxied on mid left side of the map (Jaedong was top right)
Baby scouts in the direction and throws down two raxes inside the main. His SCV sneaks past a drone as the zerg puts down a hatch at the natural; pool almost done.

Both players are mining minerals and building raxes and refineries. Iris is making a squid add-on for his rax. Sea is building a factory and scouting the squid add-on. Now that the reactor is complete is looks like a nautilus. Iris made a reaper.
Iris plants a third. He's up to 6 medivacs. Sea has 2 medivacs and 5-6 tanks and neither player is engaging. Sea is building a CC to go at the third. Sea is slow-pushing while Iris stays out of tank range. Iris has the central platform.
Sea's mistake was that he engaged a bigger marines army without sieged tanks. So when his tanks started firing, Iris's marines already clean up most of his forces and can easily kill the tanks.
Feels like Jaehoon is being aggressive out on the map with a fast colossus to fake out Great and force a lot of useless vikings while he instead skips range and goes into templar tech.
looks like he tried to do it off too few units though, spread too thin to defend and Great kills a ton of workers and trades well army to army too.
Great didn't have any ghosts... a few emps and he would win the game against that many archons. Good harass but he lost a lot of army doing it meaning he couldn't finish Jaehoon off. He lost a lot of SCVs after as well, and due to the lack of ghosts he just lost. He had pretty bad engagements and battle micro as well to be honest.

Great built ghosts in really timely fashion that game tbh, he just repeatedly missed the important units with his EMP's and then didn't rebuild enough in the later stages.

Yeah, Guemchi was much better with forcefield use too. Kept 2 of Movie's immortals way out of range while trapping one at a time to pick off. Really solid play from him tbh, made great decisions.
Jaedong has looked better in each and every ZvP he has played. I am quite happy that he went from the player who helped his opponents FF be better in his first game to a player who now actually looks pretty good.

Haha oh god that first game still hurts to think of.
Definitely agree he looks better and better in the match up, but I'd love to see him get a ZvT or another ZvZ. Of the 6 sc2 games he's played in PL this season 5 of them have been vP.

I love seeing Jaedong's improvement, playing so much better than he was at the beginning of this PL. I remember a ZvP on Ohana a while back that he lost where it seemed he could've taken it.
