I think you are overestimating the players. Except for a select few, most of the BW players are diamond level right now. I hope that plating upgrades for vehicles will become more valuable against marines in the future, after +2 or +3 weapons is done.
While weapons is obv the most important one of the two, pulling another shot from each tank, while being shot by fast attacking marines during flanks might prove itself to be valuable too.

I'm pretty sure all that positional play I just watched in the TvT on Ohana was way better than what some random high ranked ladder hero could pull off. Calling these players diamond level is an insult.
