I suggest the gas be used for some guardian investment, for defending high ground. heavy sunk and guard with scourge and maybe a spore to annoy vessels and you got a really annoying defence against anything on a base like 3 o' clock. It is a high investment in non-aggression but if the investment in aggressive is 90% waste then why not attempt this? the guard is the only unit that can counter the tank range (along with broodling) yet isn't used at all. Even as an aggressive build a surprise guardian combo with a typical ling/hydra main composition could cripple a tank count if done at the right time/place/map.
