Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls - you have probably guessed it by now. In a blaze of glory and with trumpets resounding through the halls of BroodWar iCCup Attack! makes its much anticipated return! And what's more, not only will we see this show make a comeback move, we will also witness the return of one of our most beloved players to the community's limelight, as well as that of the manliest voices in the business. First though...
What is iCCup Attack!?
On December 29th at 23:00 CET our show's hosts and a very well known top player will gather on iCCup's TheAbyss. From the channel Attack! we will select a number of people that get the chance to play our show's hero. You should still follow our stream, even if you don't get picked the first time, as the channel will be changed after each game. We'll give our player some handicaps to play with, play some cool maps, conduct some interviews while he plays, and will try to distract him whenever possible. In the end, there should be some really fun games for everyone to enjoy!
The Hosts
So who is going to run this thing? We are both happy and honoured to be able to announce the return of Manlyfesto7 himself to return to the casting microphone. He will be joined by none other that Sayle whom we all know from his amazing recent Broodwar casting sprees. Handling the camerawork will be Mr. Kiante, down under's Broodwar lover extraordinaire. The show will be broadcast on Kiante's channel.
The Player
The focus of the entire show will be one man's burden. If you're a BroodWar fanboy like us you have long guessed who this person is - and if you haven't succeeded in doing so yet you should surely tune in to find out why you should have been able able to find it out in the first place. It is, of course, G5!
He truely is an oldschool veteran and was part of USA top circle for a long time. He was part of the infamous team [Media], listed next to other gosus like Artosis, Tasteless, Machine and Idra. G5's PvT might be his best match up - he was even able to win over Boxer @ IEF in Korea. Moreover, he was able to beat Idra in WCG USA 2010, causing some sort of uproar. You might want to check the replay pack we prepared for you:
How to play?
We'll get our players from the various channel that our viewers will be sent to, maybe at random, maybe through small quizes - just make sure to be there on time. However, for those that want to make a bit of an extra effort to draw G5's attention to their humble selves, we have devised a bit of a competition. Use the blank model below (courtesy of Hawaiianpig! <3) to make your very own G5 cheerful! Post your submission, your highest rank and your ICCup ID in the thread so we can compile them, the best one wins a game versus our hero!
I hope you guys do original ATTACK format, and not TL SC2 ATTACK shows. they pretty much tell everything to the HERO. I hope you guys do SC1 ATTACK <3 <3 Korean Format.
I thought it boring to watch TL SC2 ATTACK because telling everything to the hero, so boring to watch a player who should win already know exactly what his opponent is doing, how is he suppose to lose, we all watch it in hopes that he wins, but in hopes that he loses as well.
The chat was the best part of SC2 TL attack for me, but because the casters told everything to the hero it made it less surprising and spontaneous since you knew that the HERO cannot lose for sure since he pretty much has cheats (obs are telling him everything)
KEEP IT REAL love the fact that we get an ATTACK show again.
Will watch for sure. I wonder how Manlyfesto and the "Magical Girl" will work together. It's a good thing that you have a dedicated observer this will make trash talking and not talking about the game too much much easier for the casters.
Hey and how great it is that iccup, gecko and sayle can work together again and overcame all the drama of the past. Christmas everywhere ...
Questions to G5: How much out of practice are you? Are you going to play more BW in the future again (participating at tournaments)? Do you know that all your opponents will be Scan's smurfs?
Sounds good, but G5 haven't you been playing a lot of SC2 lately? I hope his skills will be up to par, not saying they won't but , if G5 has only been playing a lot of SC2 lately then maybe he will have a little trouble and won't win every game? GL though awesome initiative :D

Didn't he make like a blog about installing BW again recently? I believe the title was "it begins again" or something like that.
saw G5 practicing about 3ish weeks ago so I don't think he will be in that bad of a shape, especially with the level of the average player a lot lower than it was back in the day.
One thing btw... Kiante as observer? Not that he's a bad observer, but it seems rather stupid to have the entire game lag up just because of the observer.
God it is going to be hard to talk about protoss in a positive light. I think that whenever G5 plays vs a Terran player I'm going to have to talk shit about him.

sayle is out of the country and doesn't have his normal setup and my lag will be the same as mani's

3 lagging observers then? Fantastic, just need to get some peruvians up in there(I say 3 because Sayle is in Korea and its possible that he'll lag with foreigners)...

I'm in Hong Kong now, and I did some testing of my stream today. It seems that I can actually stream but I'm not sure how reliable it is. It's better to have a dedicated obs anyway though.

lets you troll g5 more.
if lag is a real issue there are always other avenues

I don't know how your lag could be the same as my (non-existent) lag...

I would love to see in shape G5 vs In_Dove!
He was streaming SC2 a few days back, I really don't think he'll be anywhere near close to that kind of level of brood war play. Don't think he'd be in shape enough to beat pro7ect either tbh..
Edit: Wait... How is this an iCCup event when Paladin and Gecko are the sole organizers, yet they have nothing to do with iCCup? O_O

You coulda just used B.net attack on MBC as an example..
Is there anything known about the maps that will be played? Who will pick them? I don't have much time, but I would like to prepare at least something if I'm up against the PvT king.
Any decent Protoss or Terran that would like to help me out, PM me!

Last game was the bomb! The observers nuke to victory... Completely filled with EPICSAUCE Fantastic event though. I really enjoyed it, although I didn't get a chance to scout rush G5
Sorry for my lackluster job guys I feel really bad about it. It was just tough to adjut to not having our guest. Sayle did awesome, really carried the day. Hopefully next time is better.

It didn't seem lackluster at all, once it started rolling it was loads of fun to watch, and really fun to play
G5, Machine, BGH... an awesome trip to days of past and forgotten glory. Makes me a little sad inside, I didn't realize how much I still like (foreign) BW =(
Thanks G5 for playing me, and Sayle and Kiante and Gecko and Manifesto and Machine and whoever I forgot to mention. Next time instead of team melee, I'll micro the tanks myself.
I was so dissapointed i actually turned it off just when in_dove started playing, soo hard for him to answer questions when he doesn´t speak very good english (its OK but a bit hard, esp. over skype). Seems like i missed something after all! Translators, g5 arriving, machine?!? Gonna watch the vods fo shizz!
Happy new years everyone, esp. you guys who made this happen! Cheers
Actually I found that the part with Dove was really good. He did not talk much but he was very tired, and with the help of a translator one could get and ok conversation. The great thing with him is that he is so good that he actually can take handicaps and make them really work and be creative. Look at that damn game vs Zaraki!!!
I did not know who g5 was, but It really was fun and he seems like a great cool guy. Same with Machine. Another thing is that the FreeForAll was really fun and as long as there are people commentating and talking even if there is not someone famous, a fun silly event can be done too. On that note using some UMS games could be maybe some fun too.
