I think they will wait for the pro-scene to settle first before hosting another finals in China. Maybe next season but for now there's so much uncertainty and pessimism so I think playing it safe is the better option.

I think that's just because it's the only event on so far (BW might be marked with red?), when a SC2 event goes up on the same day it'll probably turn blue again.
