Boxer possibly abused chatting to mindgame his opponent into losing. Smart players take the advantages they're given. Your modification is totally unnecessary given that a pause DQ is 100% avoidable and still ignores the fact that a pause can disrupt a player's timing or rhythm regardless of his build order. Instead of making the rule complex or giving Kespa more discretion, which has been a disaster in the past, it's best to keep it straightforward like it is now and accept the problems that arise once a year or so when someone is dumb enough to violate it. Also, to the guy who asked about chatting: In a game many years ago, a chat exchange between Boxer and his opponent convinced the other guy that Boxer was in a different starting position than the one he was actually in. The other guy lost. IIRC it wasn't conclusively because of the chatting, but it was decided that chat mindgames weren't a desirable part of pro SC, so it was banned. the point is that they could simply replay the game because they had not had any variation or engagement yet. of course the modification is "unnecessary" - it's just desirable because what happened today was stupid and it's happened a lot. it's a sign that the sport is unserious. imagine if football were like this. "twelve men on the field, you're disqualified. sorry, looks like you won't be making it to the playoffs." the argument that kespa should make absolute rules that always lead to bad consequences (when has somebody *ever* been disqualified for pausing *during a battle*?) because them having discretion might sometimes lead to bad consequences is silly too. the worse bad things that happen the better.

But who is Jangbi? Just some dude whos good but nowhere near Flash's level? Or is he just bad in general (when comparing him to other current BW progamers)? Jangbi used to be one of the absolutely best players in the world back in like 09 but has been in a long slump ever since and only recently began playing like a boss again. Pretty hard to say just how good he is at the moment to be honest. ![]()

At one point he probably was the best player in the world, he has the highest PvT elo peak. On the other hand, he had a horrible slump until very recently, and he only got silvers, so his nerve ain't his strength. He's talented.
