soo's ZvT has definitely improved but I still think it'd be a pretty bad match for him unless Flash's ability has declined that much due to his affliction.

only jaedong to blame for that
I also blame 2x bo losses. But anyway, it is a tragedy.
He did a 12pool on a 4 player map. Twice. It's a mental issue, 100%.
yes, don't remind me this "12 pool issue". I freaked out when he played Zero 3 times with one bo. ANd then now, fuck!
hey dude don't you remember the days of JD defending 9 pools with 12h?
Back then, nobody knew how to muta or ling micro. JD's ZvZ forced everybody to improve and now he sort of can't keep up with muta micro anymore. That and he chooses the wrong BOs all the fucking time :|
His mechanics are fine though, as I said, it's all in his head.
I agree the JvZ run likely motivated everyone else to step up, but JD's ZvZ muta control, especially, is weaker than it once was.
He hasn't really gotten to chance to display his muta control in ZvZ since his series against Hydra, imo. He tends to lose before mutas or against massively more mutas (i.e. BO loss), so it's kind of hard to tell. It's also hard to tell whether his muta control has worsened or the other guys' gotten better.
