In the earlygame, you not only get a tech advantage, but you can also start getting out your first fighting units. You have a huge amount of trouble against some things, like early ling pressure, but assuing that your opponent just macro's you have a pretty significant tech lead. movie knows this, and that's why he's sad sitting on the bench - if he doesn't let the lings run by, he has a pretty easy opportunity, because you can get your first sair out 15-30 seconds earlier by going py gate forge cannon, and your zeal count is higher. it also just gives you more pressure +1 zeal options, although it depends how oldschool metagame wise he was going. It used to be really popular to go +1 speedzeal with 5 sairs (stork +movie was pretty good at it), but you can also play pretty standardly otherwise. In addition, with the earlier zeal, you can have a few more, and use them for scouting and/or pressuring at the third. I'm not sure how much of a fan i'm of that idea, i've seen various protosses do that with various success. | ||
