Hate to say it but Stars have never been even remotely clutch. KT overachieved all year and Stars underachieved. I suspect CJ will win but you can just never count KT out, they have shown time and time again that they are a clutch team.
what
when was this
When was this? When KT wasn't KTFlash last year and wasn't really KTFlash this year either. KT got wins from Violet, Stats, and Tempest to go with Flash last year in the finals against SKT1. Seems like every playoff match they're considered the underdog but they just keep winning.
Stars on the other hand ... it just doesn't feel like they have a culture of winning. The team identity seems to be that they have a lot of good, if not great, players, but they just don't get clutch wins. They should have had a better PL record than they did, and a team with Zero/Soulkey/Free/Light/Really should not be losing to KT. Yeah free sucks right now but look at KT - players stepping up left and right. Hoejja, Perfective, Tempest somewhat in R6. Hon_sin, kid got a tough draw somewhat but he simply blew it.
Seems to me that team identities go a long way in BW, perhaps moreso than they get credit for. There's a reason why CJ churns out top Zergs and their rookies always seem to overachieve (it's because the team instills a culture of expectation that you can always win). There's a reason why SKT1's players execute fancy builds so well (yeah they prepare it and get builds from oov but they also expect to succeed with them). And in the past two seasons, KT's culture has changed too, from being an underachieving team (like their 7th place finish 2 seasons ago) to one that really does step up when needed.
