It may be because I'm doing better than normal for liquibet, but I opened up the LB, looked at this group, sat back in my chair, and closed the tab 5 minutes later. I can't decide if FBH is a fluke, and I can't decide if free can pull it together with a week of prep time for one MU (assuming he essentially forfeits the PvP that may happen).
I think that high level free v FBH could be a great game (and create great games with stork), but if FBH and free are looking like their slump form, then this is going to be one of the least interesting groups of them all.
Props for the early LR, surprised it got up before group D though ^_^

Yea, I was torn btw which one I wanted to do. I learned my lesson on trying to manage two groups at once. Being a fan of the Birdtoss I chose E.
If Stork and FBH can both make it out of this group, I'll be one happy-chappy. Hoping for some major FBH-->Stork BM (or vice versa). Mind is in good form though so he's got a strong chance too...
Damn Im pretty fucking hyped about these matches!!
Especially Stork vs FBH!!!!
Stork is usually always good and omfg its the fucking legend FBH!!! cant almost get any better than that (Group D anyone?).
I really really like Mind and Free I hope he can produce some good games even though he has been quite bad after that OSL run (he has been winning some proleague matches I think but nothing special from him lately)
Stork vT : there's no way he can lose Mind vs Free : well, i think Mind will win. He's a very turtle Terran and Free is a Toss that doesn't fare well against turtle Terran.
I just finished MSL Ro32 Day 1 Group A Thread. So whoever wants to do it tonight can take it from here. Just quote this post and all the code will be there! + Show Spoiler +

Did the VODs for the exhibition games after the SWL final with Stork and Leta ever make it up? Anyway, Stork should have this easy, and Mind will probably come out as well, but hoping it'll be FBH for more Robocop shenanigans
I was debating going to sleep or not... but it's FBH and Stork!!! I really hope FBH can pull through with this, it would be so cool if someone from ACE could make it all the way, especially after doing a [former] team kill! Too bad he can't do a ceremony though...

I don't see FBH winning. He's known for having one the worst TvP ever, and his TvT (if he managed to face Mind) is no longer top tier. Stork shall have an easy time in this group, and Mind/Free could go either way, but Mind is just a little more consistent.
(Might be a good idea to edit an [MSL] tag into the title)
FBH in such a toss heavy group. Since he got into the airforce, and he is probably not allowed to do his stupid dances, i kinda don't dislike him that much anymore. But anyway, GO STORKUU!!!!!

FBHs TvP has, believe it or not, looked really solid and strong lately.
This is awesome, I thought for some reason that the two groups were being played simultaneously, but now I can watch group E live as well. My day is saved/ruined
Keep in mind that these guys have played each other hundreds (thousands?) of times in practice. I always find matches between (former) teammates interesting.
Whooo! Stork vs FBH woke up just for this! (not really) Anyways sad to see these guys play each other and possibly contribute to others' elimination but Stork vs FBH in the past has been pretty exciting.

FBH moving out with some tanks and vultures. Dragoons engage, stork microing around like mad, MINE takes out a few dragoons. Small sandwich on FBH's forces, stork comes out on top as FBH loses his forces. Stargate being added now. Stork knocking on FBH's door. FBH seiges up in his nat and the goons retreat.
Meanwhile 2 vultures catch some probes being transfered. Stork going carriers
FBH loses his forces once again with some nice goon micro from Stork, this time Stork gets all the way into that nat. Goons killing scvs, fresh tanks come out but they don't last long against the goons. Vultures depserately laying mines to little effect. Armory goes down. 2 more stargates being added, shuttle floating around in FBH's main too. SCVs running

That game 1 was one of the most dominating games I've ever seen. I suppose he meant that one specifically.

Mind in purple at 5, Free in yellow at 7, map is Circuit Breaker. 1 gate core for Free as he sends out his scouting probe, Mind sending out his scv scout at the same time, both heading north. Mind getting his factory up. Free sending a zealot out too towards Mind's base, scv sees it coming. Marines are out and ready to defend
Both scouting wrong (up). 1 gate core for free. Mind getting a fact scv's off gas, looks pretty normal. Where's that carrier guy who used to do awesome LRs?

Yes the game on pathfinder.
Yes iv seen it, but that was like 4 months ago, and in the BW world that is a long time ago with the shitloads of games being played
edit: also hiya played teeeerrible in that game, everything he could do wrong he did. Soooo slow reaction time to everything like losing his first tank to 4 goons, having reaver land in his min line and fire before he even starts moving away SCVs etc.
First dragoon pops and starts firing at the scouting scvs, meanwhile scv and three marines are chasing away that one zealot. Zealot is running for it's life. Core spinning. Mind gets rid of that scouting probe. 2 dragoons meet up ith the zealot near Mind's base.
5 marines land 1 tank move out to scare off the goons. CC started at the nat, rax floated over to the nat to narrow the opening. Meanwhile Free has also started his nat, he's also warping in an adun
temp archive and stargate warping in at the same time. Vulture laying some mines down infront of the nat. SCVs being transfered to the nat as the cc finishes. Mind begins constructing an ebay, arbiter tribunal warping in. Free going for 2 base arb. Turrets being erected around the base.
On April 14 2011 20:20 HopLight wrote: I don't like this super fast arbiter, what's the use of early recalls if you don't have the economy to instantly remake all units.
Maybe he wants defensive recalls, Horang2 style. I love those
DT eats some mines but lives to tell about it. Oh wait, no it doesn't as it eats one more mine. Another DT out on the field though, spotting those vultures.
Aribiter tribunal finished and the stargate is blinking, Free adding some pylons at his nat to narrow that entrance. DT continues to roam the map for info. second factory started up as Mind adds comsats to his CCs robo finished for Free and an observatory warps in shortly after. Mind taking his third at 5.5 First arbiter out now. Free also taking an expo at 6.5
both armies engage a little, meanwhile the DT is killing scvs at Mind's third. Free's third is under attack by tanks
Nex being shelled, it goes down. Turrets being erected around the tanks. DT still killing scvs. Mind retreats his forces after taking down the nex. Another Armory being added now as well as a starport.
Free rebuilding his trhid at 9. Mind constructing a sci facility.
On April 14 2011 20:20 HopLight wrote: I don't like this super fast arbiter, what's the use of early recalls if you don't have the economy to instantly remake all units.
You don`t have to do early recalls just because you make superfast arbs, the advantage of having higher energy and more arbs are just as important, like being able to do 3 stasis in an early battle or do a dual recall way earlier than normal recall timings.
Vulture makes it pass the pylon wall (at the third) with the mine trick and takes out several probes. Meanwhile Mind has amassed a scary terran army with his 7 factories.
Mind has his vessels out now. Battle at 6, Free has a lot of zealots, stasis goes off and catches 4 tanks. Free retreating his units, mind has a cc floating around as he tries to take 6. Free taking his fourth at 10 oclock
Free attacking once again at 6, another stasis but Free retreats in the end after taking a few losses.
Mind slowly moving towards Free's third, stasis goes off but there are too many tanks for Free's army to handle. Dragoons struggling down the ramp. Free backing off before losing his entire army. Mind holding a strong position at 6 with all his tanks. inching his tanks forward he begins to shell Free's third. EMP on an idle arbiter. Probes run from Free's third.
Probes being hunted by some vultures, Free trying to get another expo up at 11
Free moving his army around and towards Mind's third with an unsuccessful attack. He loses half his army and retreats. Control group and a half of zealots run right into tanks. stasis goes off and catches at least 5 tanks. dragoons come from another angle but it's no good.
Meanwhile at the nat vultures catch fresh units including HTs, Mind is now knocking at Free's nat. Pylon wall down. Nat nex is being shelled now
On April 14 2011 20:31 Holgerius wrote: Haha, those guys who complained about the ''unprofessional shouting'' by Gretorp and Incontrol in the NASL LR-thread should listen to these guys. XD
Free adding more gates, meanwhile Mind has moved a few tanks to take out Free's 9 o clock Mind has expo'ed at 6.5 which was previously Free's expo. Vultures make it all the wy into the main. Mind has expanded to 3 as well. Dragoons trying to do some damage at 3.
Free's expo at 9 slowly being shelled to death. REcall at 6, storms go off, the scvs leg it out of there. Units come to clean up the recall

Well free just looks off his game, for example there was one point when mind was pushing through his min only. Thre were only pure tanks there and free had 20 or so speedlot coming, I thought "oh he could clean a lot of tanks up here" with a good stasis to support it that is. so he moves the zlots among the unsieged tanks and then a huge stasis on high ground tanks, when 3 zlots are left alive, mind having lost 1 or 2 tanks in the whole ordeal. That's just basic timing....
On April 14 2011 20:41 xarthaz wrote: Well protoss is a heavily gamesense rather than mechanics based race. perhaps thats why an extended slump of free is hitting harder than expected..
Well Bisu is someone who often shows rather dubious gamesense and decisionmaking in PvT, and still hes pretty much the best PvT player at the moment, solely because of his superior mechanics.
Map is Dante's Peak, Mind in yellow at 5, Stork in brown at 8 Stork going with 12 nex, while Mind goes for rax first. Mind sending his scv in the right direction! Mind's going to scout this.
Mind getting his factory up. Core going up, nexus finishes. Mind pumping out marines. Vulture will be out shortly. Core finishes, scvs on their way to Stork's nat. Forge still warping
Single zealot out defending, marines arrive with scvs. Probes pulled to defend! Vulture arrives as well. Cannon warping in, finishes but dies within seconds of warping in Dragoon is out. bunker being built now! three marines still alive, probes desperately trying to surround Bunker finished! Marines enter! Tank on its way
3 marines and 1 tank idling the map waiting for reinforcements. Second tank arrives and Mind moves out yet agiaun. Probe spots the on coming assault. dragoon falls to tanks and marines. Probes run from the nat. Vulture arrives, probes and dragoons tyring to hold the ramp, probes dying left and right, marines too.
12 Nex has been so solved. It makes me happy. Unless it's cross positions and scouted late it's gonna get punished. Or the T will just Rax Expo and be even (pretty much) in terms of econ.

Well considering hes got 66% chance of being cross map or scouted on the last pos, 12nex is still a powerful build, especially against this FD build Mind seem to prefer. Also its possible to just sack your natural and wait for range goons from 2gate and come out somewhat even or at a small disadvantage.
edit: also Storks decision to make the core before the forge was rather suspect, if your gonna do a forge defense you should get the forge before the core for sure.

Oooh, that's true, a cannon about 3-4 seconds earlier would have made a huge difference.
YES! Confirmation that I'm not hallucinating from lack of sleep!
I'm loving how Doa is all over the place with attending BW events with these redheads. He appeared at the SWL Finals with Morrow, too. It's a slow week at GOM with no GSL this week, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him representing the foreign community at these BW events this week.
Loser's match, map is Dante's Peak again. FBH in blue at 1.5, Free in brown at 5 Free going 1 gate core, adds another gate soon after. FBH sends out his scout in the wrong direction. FBH going with a factory after his rax. Marine out and guarding that nat. Second gate finishes warping in, core is spinning. Machine shop added to the factory. Starport being built now

pretty sure it was Moletraps idea to go to the msl games, since he talked about going to Korea to watch bw games live since years.
Free sends out his scout only to be killed by four marines before seeing anything. Vulture roaming around the map, runs into 2 goons. control tower added to the starport. Dropship in the making.
machine shop spinning as well. Free taking his nat. 4 goons guard the entrance to the nat. Dropship finishes, loads four vultures and heads towards the main, drops the vultures, mines laid. Several probes die, dragoons arrive to defend and destroy all four of the vultures. Robo finished, observatory warping in. FBH takes his nat. anotehr factory added (total of 2)

Hmmm... I wouldn't be surprised if it was Moletrap's idea. He's already in Korea to cast the GSL Code A games, so the MSL games would be quite convenient for him. He's probably having the time of his life over there.
another factory added (total of 3), vulture out scouting the map, Free has his observer out scouting also. ebay in the making. observer stops FBH's army sitting at the nat. Vulture stops a probe from taking a third. DS on the move again
Free has left 2 dragoons inside the base for insurance. DS changes course after seeing goons. More factories being added now. Free has reaver tech, 2 vultures snipe a probe, but not before it warps in that nex, FBH has 5 factories, he moves out. Free has a shuttle out. REaver drops from shuttle, hits some tanks. zealot bombs! they damage a few tanks. Goons arrive to engage, but Fre misses his opportunity and backs off.
FBH moving forward, Free's third is completely undefended DS enters the main, drops vultures, 1 goon defending the mineral line. Meanwhile Free is trapped in his base
Wow, I've ALWAYS wanted to see what he looks like. :D Doesn't look at all like I expected him to though. XD
The face behind the voice... not always what you'd expect.
I'm quite stoked for the FBH vs Stork rematch. The former hero Terran of Khan vs the current Protoss hero. Will Stork fall early or will he dominate FBH in a convincing fashion yet again?

Final match of the night, map is La Mancha FBH in blue at 11, Stork in Purple at 5, cross map positions.
FBH going rax first, Stork going for that 12 nex again, better position this time though, he starts his gate soon after. Both players send their scouts to 1 o clock
Stork transfers those probes to his newly warped in nex, scv scout arrives in stork's base, core warping in now. Marines kill off stork's scouting probe. FBH takes his nat. Froge built at the nat for Stork.
First dragoon out and chasing that scout, zealot joins in on the chase. bunker built at at Fbh's nat. Factory going up. Stork warping in that robo and a second gate.
forge spinning, second factory in construction, machine shop on the first fact is spinning. Second machine shop added, both are spinning.
Stork adds two more gates (total of 4). FBH moving out with 2 vults, 4 marines, and a single tank. Stork preparing to take his third, scv scouts it though. vulture sneaks pass dragoons and into the main, vulture lays down some mines and kills off a goon before being destroyed itself.
Well, at least that vulture certainly paid for itself. Seems that FBH is playing a bit better this game, though I have a feeling that Stork might be on tilt after losing to Mind.
FBH sneaking a few Vultures into Stork's base again, killing a goon in the process.
Armory being added, Stork creating a pylon wall at his nat. Observer is out and leading a group of goons to clear out some mines in the field. FBH looking to sneak in some more vultures, dragoons block in time though, vultures force their way in with mines, they enter in the main, probes run, dragoons arrive to help defend. Adun warps in.
No third up for Stork yet but he's got a pylon wall set up there. Stargate being warped in along with the temp archive. Stork warping in another gate (total of 6), cc finished inside main and waiting to be floated to an expo.
Arbiter tribunal warping in, Stork getting a shuttle as well. FBH taking 12 expo. He has a lot of tanks out on the field. Stork has his third up and running at 6 o'clock Stargate flashing as the tribunal finishes.
Dragoons catch a few vultures out on the field scouting. vultures raid 6 nabbing a few probes before goons wipe them out. 8 gates for Stork. 7 factories for FBH, he's starting to pump out goliaths now.
Stork on the move with his army, he has a large force of goons and zealots. First arbiter out.
Both armies engage in the middle of the map, tanks are fairly clumped, but FBH's army is kind of split in two, stork manages to wipe half of it out before retreating.
1 weap 1 armor upgrades for Stork. Stork resumes clearing mines out. Shot of a very worried girl in the crowd. Stork mixing a DT in with his army. FBH adding that sci facility. Aribiter moving around to 9, spots some vultures.
Forge spinning again after being idle for a little while. Stork moving that army around, stasis on some vultures, goliaths blow it out of the sky though. Stork mixing some HTs in with his army.
Stork engages! stasis his 3 tanks. Storms go off, stork is rolling this army. perfect attack angle
Not much of FBH's army remains. Stork kills of the remaining tanks when they de-stasis. Stork expanding to 3, vultures trying to take it down, zealots arrive just in time to save it.
FBH taking his fourth at 1, Stork sends a single archon to 1 to kill the scvs, 2 zealots arrive to help out, 4 remaining scvs run for their lives. Stork once again moving his army, he engages, zealots run right into tanks, Storms tear apart tanks. Zealots overrun FBH's army!
Only the stasised units remain, and only death awaits them.
Stork has taken another base at 6.5, meanwhile FBH has expanded to 9. Stork pumping probes from his new expos. Can't make out the upgrades.
Stork attacking 8, a few tanks are around to defend, storms casted over the scvs. FBH manages to hold onto that expo. Meanwhile FBH's 1 oclock has been wiped clean by an archon and 2 zealots
Vultures roaming around the map laying mines as fast as they can to stop Stork's movement. Emp his the arbiter!
On April 14 2011 21:36 Urth wrote: very early forge for upgrades?

yeah apparently Stork is doing a very fast upgrade in that forge ... something new
Pretty sure he made that early forge in anticipation for a a scv\marine rush from FBH since he was 12nexing, then just started early upgrades since he already had the forge. Don`t think that`s something he planned on doing from the getgo.
Stork has cannoned up his 3 oclock, he has at least 2-3 cannons at his expos. His army is constantly moving around the map, clearing mines, etc.
FBH seiging his tanks up in preparation of Stork's engagement, stork backs away.
Stork moving his army around the center. Stork engages again, 2 stasis go off, no HT this time, FBH holds by the skin of his teeth, more anks arrive! vessels taken out. 1 vessel left! scv reparing like crazy, but the two arbiters take it out
FBH expanding to 12.5, he has a few tanks shelling Stork's 3 oclock. stasis on some tanks as zealots move in to save 3, storms his a few tanks too. Stork saving 3 for now, but more units are arriving.
Lone DT attacking 12.5, it destroys a comsat before being killed by vultures. Stork engaging again near 1. stasis goes off, catches a tank, some vults and a vessel! Stork's units storm pass and attack the expo, CC forced to lift and workers are running for their lives.
Moletrap got a Stork-signed shirt! A most excellent day for him indeed!
Sad for FBH, though he looked quite strong during parts of that game. One can only imagine the beast that would emerge once he gets out of Ace and back onto Khan.

I saw firebathero as a complete non-factor. There's no way he can beat Mind and it's unlikely he'll be able to defeat protoss. His TvP's in proleague often consist of 2 fact or 5 fact.
Mind's TvP looking good nowadays. He stated he had confidence in this matchup, as well as having a decent record, so I figured he'd 2-0 with wins over toss.
I'm a little bit confused after watching Mind vs. Stork. Mind scouted Stork fast and decided to bunker rush. Alright. Let the nexus fall, build up a small army, break the contain - continue the game.
Stork was all over the place and started building a forge. If the cannon had come up in time, maybe it would have saved him. A second gateway would have helped him more - pumping out 2x amount of dragoons / zealot.
Stork is better than this. He needs to pull himself together.

Stork went to the game wanting to do his new 2 Base Forge Upgrade Arbiter builds against Mind but then mind punish him for that build, Stork panicked and threw the game away. I wouldn't worry too much about Stork's PvT because that game reminded a lot like Stork vs Hiya when Hiya went for those Dropship plays against Stork. After game, Stork even stated that right after the game finished, he knew what he should've done and that he have panicked. In a best of 3, Stork would NOT lose against Mind.

No mind would win 2:0, bunker rushing twice ofc.
But Stork have saw the situation with Hiya's play and immediately realized on what he could have done to stop the kind of play so when the situation which Mind would bunker rush again, he would change up his play! (okay, seriously I don't like "hypothetical debates..."
Let's see how far Mind goes into this tournament. He is a bit of a mystery for me... Anyway. Unrelated question but is it normal we didn't hear about OSL yet?
