So what? He lost the opening-mind games, he was behind. A balanced map won't fix that for you magically.

Maybe take into account the races they play?

I think the term mind games is getting overused here now in regards to JD vs Flash. Yes he went 9pool, but this was hardly mind games at work. The same opening for both happened at WCG Korea game 3. If you are behind from the opening it makes even less sense to choose that risky expo position anyway.

And that's why we have 3 T's in WCG for the second year in a row, that's why we've had so many T's winning Starleagues since Forgg did it vs JD 2008? Stop this nonsense already. -__-
Although I don't think these WCG games means as much as proper Starleague games, I definitely think Flash is getting close to the position as GOAT. ^__^

The first two games were awesome. Just witnessing the skill they wield being put into play makes you shiver. Before the departure, JD said that he wanted to test his himself during this WCG-well, he still has what it takes to be a tyrant. As for Flash, 2010 is his season, and seeing this might be the last wcg for sc:bw, he deserves the title more than anyone. I just cannot wait for the next Proleague/OSL/(MSL) to start. Whatever Blizz's campaign wants us to believe, sc2 has nothing on the excitement and pure awsomeness of broodwar.
|
God damnit.
Seriously, T>Z>P>T is the natural balance of BW, but the advantage T has over Z is only slight. Zergs and Zerg fans have no right to bitch about balance when ZvP is far and away the most unbalanced non-mirror matchup, heavily favoring Zerg.
Quit with this Sc2 bullshit already. Jaedong lost to Flash for the same reason he's been losing to Flash lately - because Flash is a better player, especially in series play.

Game 2 is definitely one of the best games they've ever played vs each other. The game on Rush Hour 3 was epic as fuck (I rewatched it like 2 days ago ^__^), but this one was even greater IMO. JD is such a beast. Too bad he's so far behind Flash in the mental aspect of the game atm.

Alright. Terran beats zerg around 53% or something historically. Flash is winning 73.3% of the time vs jaedong. Flash is the better player right now.

Over the last year, sure. Flash is the better player atm.
Can we stop the bullshit?

Best in the sense of hilarious moments (scourge/vessel bonding time, drone/scv co-mining, manner cc, etc), yes. Best in actual play, hell no. This match had some pretty sloppy play from both of them, so its not really a good show of either of their best skills. Definitely entertaining though.

Besides, what games would you say contain better play from both of them?
|
Sure, there was some sloppiness.
If they were on smurf accounts and no one knew who they were, lots of people would download the rep and rate it at least 8.8. Considering we got to see it live and it was showcased outside of Korea. I'd say it gets upped a notch.
They do lots of tiny things a bit better than everyone else. :/
|
When Jaedong flew in with the 9 mutas there were zero turrets at the main base, only four at the natural. Too bad JD didn't scout it. Also - Jaedongs getting sloppy. I get the same feeling watching him as watching Savior in 2009. At least when he's playing against Flash
|
Flash's bio has seen much better days than in game 2, and JD's macro and control as well. I would say game 2 of NATE MSL (on Ultimatum) was a much more impressive game from both. This game is their most entertaining game in recent history, but thats because their other games haven't been so back and forth and are usually just relatively one sided.

Added VODs from Day1+Day2.

Yeah, there's a lot of truth in that moopie. :/

Will the vids be out today? I wanna see them ><;;

Thanks for all the streams. J v F is always entertaining.
Gooo Flash!

I'm personally a huge fan of their game on Ultimatum (rewatched that one as well just a day or two ago, what the fuck am I supposed to do with no live BW to watch ^__^), but it doesn't really display their ''skill''. It was JD being hyper smart with his build and Flash being even smarter with his counter (I scream out loud everytime I watch that dropship play). This game on Tau Cross though was pretty much management vs management. No special pre-planned strategies or anything, just pure macro/multitasking. You almost never see them go head-to-head with this style of TvZ at all.
I think the game showed that JD can definitely hang with Flash from a purely mechanical point of view. Flash is just dominating in the ''metagame'' (sorry XD).
|
Right now Flash is the better player no matter how much I hate to say it. But I'm not worried Jaedong doesn't give up and he'll come back and start raping flash again in a matter of time ^^
