Either way, go eSTRO.
isn't the stx cup where the least-ranked teams fight first, and gradually make their way up by defeating the higher-ranked teams, and stx automatically has the last round? also its a winner's league format

STX doesn't have the last round, last year's winner does.

yes..but Hyuk all killing STX in their own tourney was so sweet.
Stork showing that he can not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk (referring to his "criticism" of Flash when Flash skipped proleague due to a busy schedule).
One decisive storm on the clump of Grape's dragoons decide the decisive battle. Protoss ball currently wrecking hell in the multi. Looks like Stock will win.
Stork vs. Action. Very admirable that both these guys are playing despite having an important match coming up later tonight. Although I bet they're totally winging it.
Hydras all burrow at 3 oclock, hoping to catch another shuttle offguard.
Stork moving out with another shuttle/sair, right over the hydras.
Hydras catch the shuttle, with scourge backup, shuttle barely escapes.
Shuttle drops DTs at 12 oclock, action with hydras there but no overlord. Overlord finally arrives but the DT has retreated after taking out drones and the sunken.
that shuttle living was fucking incredible... stream buffered at just the perfect timing to create a huge WTF reaction from everyone watching, was a special moment...
Stork's army gets plagued, but he continues to push in. Action brings up lurkers from behind for a surround, apparently attempting to block reinforces but not moving them to engage.
my Firefox is crashing so strange. I was streaming the audio of the game without any visuals at all. Or Firefox running. at all.... even in Task manager.
So now I have 2 audios running with one stream. And I can't restart my computer cuz I'm installing sc2.

When Zerg gets 4 gas, it is kinda okay to be on equal bases (I know this is not the case, just pointing out ^^)
I think this is because the Protoss will soon mine out his main and then nat, while the Zerg's lower saturation will keep him mining from all four for longer.
Anyways, Action lost because he didn't power enough early (bought lots of hydra/scourge) while Stork was pumping probes of 2-3 bases. He couldn't match Stork's economy, and when he tried to (by pumping drones and expanding more) he got his expansions shoved back in his face and then his fourth overrun.

It's because with 4 gas you can go pretty much everything with a bit of clever thinking, you can even support Ultra/Defiler/Ling.
Storks shuttle+Goons completely breaks Really's defense. Really losing any semblance of map control. Stork is also pushing into the main. Really only has goliaths to defend. Stream is lagging.
Really attempts to vult harass on 10.5 but encounters a pylon wall. Lays down some mines before losing the vults. Mines are then taken out by the goons/obs.
Really took the island. I doubt he can hold it against Recall, and his drop-happy military got cleaned up trying to harass some of Stork's soon-to-be-7 bases.
Its 7 bases (+1 building) to 4 atm. Stork not allowing Really to move up towards 6, and to continue to turtle, while Stork takes up the rest of the map.
That dark templar-tank battleground on 11'o clock was pretty costly. Three DT get about 7 tanks. Terran onbce again wipes out 6, but carriers are coming~!
Really has a fuckton of goliaths, but Stork's previous high base count means he still has some left in his nat/third, and he has more bases on top of that. If he would just kill Really's goddamn island, Really would have very little money.
Really moving towards 4 oclock now. Carriers are already there to defend. Another EMP on the carriers. Storms going off on the the tanks, but there arent enough of them. 4 goes down. Carriers are hiding at 4.5
With 8 goliaths stasised, Stork destroys the remaining forces and saves 4.5.
Really drops on 3 oclock and takes it out!
Really reinforcing his attack forces on 4.5, more goliaths come to engage the carriers, and more storms go off, though Really is doing a good job dodging them
Korean commentators saying that it is beneficial for Really to just climb up whenenver there is opportunity instead of sitting on the middle. Goliath forces are indeed being routed by storms.
Stork snipes an out of place vessel, he's engaging a goliath ball carefully now. Another wave of goliaths coming to reinforce the army. Stork takes 12 again. Carriers harass 6 and pick off goliaths that are out of place.
Stork's carriers attack 6 oclock, goliaths come to reinforce, but Stork is abusing the cliff and micros in and out of range. Finally backs off after killing a decent amount of them, but running low on interceptors.
Hard fought battle there by Really, almost came back from a huge BO advantage and losing all of his initial tanks, leading him to be behind by 4 bases. Not bad considering.

keeps them safe with cliffs better than some other progamers (cough Rock)

WTH? who else would they send?
well, they could have sent flying, but thats about it
But that's my point. Really/Action/Classic are their main lineup. The only only one they could/should have skipped was Grape (and instead send flying or hyvaa), but thats about it.
Classic building a new rax, and attempts to vult harass on Stork's min only, but it won't do much good. Stork already grabbing his 4th, and Really is still on 2 without much of an army.
Classic going nuts with the vulture harass, but Stork is ahead enough to defend all his bases comfortably. Loses some probes but not enough to be a problem.
Dropship with 2 tanks harasses the 4th and takes down the cannons. Serious vulture harass going all around anywhere. Classic's clawing his way to a better position. His 4th is building behind his third's min line.
ok, classic really trying to pull a fantasy here. if he's doing this much damage with fantasy-esque play now, i wonder what its going to be like later today...
Stork takes a fifth in the midst of all this madness. Classic doesn't have the economy to beat Stork's army. Units are fighting as they are coming out.
On July 28 2010 15:07 nozaro33 wrote: Stork's push was amazing, he's got this in the bag
He had like 3 times the army, cause he's been on 5 bases to Really's 2. It wasn't so much amazing as expected.
It was previously 4 bases to Classic's 3. But Classic had been saccing most of his units trying to harass away Stork's advantage, so he had not that much to defend with.

Again, are any of the four players that Stork just beat in Kespa's top 20? Or even top 30 (apart from Really)?
does it matter that much? really has really strong tvp, its just that his tvz is such a letdown which stops him from getting a good kespa rank. i didnt see all the games, but classic and really arent bad players by any means

When the Protoss player starts wasting Zealots just to destroy mines, you know that will never happen.
GG stork is awesome. his carriers have better pathing, his dragoons don't die as fast, his stasis' and recalls are also always better than average. ALL KILL KHAN YES
Damn. That was nice. I just installed SC2 so I can play the campaign... but this is definitely worth watching. Hope Stork can keep this play up against fantasy tonight?
eSTRO should have sent Flying first. They sent Grape cos they were expecting some rookie from Khan first, but instead they decided to take this seriously and just send Stork lol.
I wonder how games like these affect the outcome in OSL. Stork at least had to prepare alittle for todays game, and he is playing OSL against Fantasy in such a short time. Also Fantasy must have watched these pvt games. Not that Stork is letting out any strat he might use, but at least he is showing off how is standard play is looking.
On the other hand, Stork now is warmed up alot more then Fantasy is before their game.
Well well things like these you can speculate for hours about, but in the end it depends on the players. We shall see.
I don't think either are very notable for TvP though (Action&Classic). Stork was imperious tonight, so is Fantasy's TvP, so I don't think it'll be anything but a tough match.
It's the psychology too - not only does Stork out-rank all of them easily, but he's got a major title under his belt (and several finals). Anyway, I'll give out the winning percentages of each player verses Protoss soon.
Oh, do they do winner interview for this STX cup thing?
I would like to hear what Stork has to say. It's been centuries since the last Stork winner interview...mostly due to the fact nobody bothered to translate Khan interviews for R5.
estro sending out Grape for his first televised game probably didn't hurt Stork either. Although I don't know who else they would have sent that could have done better... maybe great...
Classic has beastly TvP (of the 5 pro-level games he's competed in haha). Really and Action are fairly good too. Here's Fantasy's: vP: 52-29 (64.20%)
you're seriously going to compare win percentages to show who is the better player? what do games played months and months ago have anything to do with a player's current skill? really is a very strong tvp player and has shown this many times against many strong protosses. he was so far behind today and he almost dug himself out of the shit

Fomos did one. It's the first AK ever in his career and he seems pretty satisfied. Also mentioned he's somehow on fire during every WCG prelims sesason and wants to go to LA for grand finals. Maybe wait for one of our amazing translators to do full translation.

Uh, that was not Grape's first televised game, and I believe these games don't even count towards the players' records.
