Baby is awesome right now. Tyson actually hasn't been doing that badly, having owned Shine in a convincing manner recently, but he is hardly a prolific player. Baby is the easy favorite here, barring any sort of DT bullshit. I'm hoping for a really entertaining and harass-filled game.
Best just lost 0-2 to great, who is roughly the same caliber player as hero. I honestly don't know too much about either of these players, but general statistics and this fact are going to make me lean toward hero here.
Again, I can't do anything but say how awesome Baby has been playing lately. He's the definite favorite to win this, and I would say he's a definite favorite to at least make the semifinals this season.
Another pretty one-sided prediction. Best is a consistent player, and while his PvP hasn't looked so hot lately, Tyson's PvP hasn't existed lately. I'm going to obviously lean toward the experienced and consistent Best.
I LB'd Baby and Best last week, but after Best's performance against great recently, I am afraid he's going to get raped again... Yet, we just saw Bisu 2-0 his group, so who knows what can happen. Brood war is so awesome !

His greatest accomplishment was beating JD in the OSL offlines. But again that season was JD's only true slump. If JD didnt slump that season he would be a confirmed bonjwa. During that season JD lost to Free/Tempest/Han(aka tyson) in 3 separate bo3s in 3 tournies 1-2, while not reaching the ro8 of any tournament.

people just stream the games if they feel like it; Teamliquid users are not obligated to provide streams for everyone else. It is disappointing that there is no stream right now, but I'm glad people take the effort to stream so many of the pro matches

Summary of game 1 for the streamless: Baby goes 1-fac CC, Tyson does an effective DT rush that delays the natural for at least a minute and gets a lot of SCVs with a minedrag. Baby tries to get back in with vulture harass but sloppy mines result in his army being whittled away by some good play from Tyson. Protoss follows up into two-base arbiter han-bang, stasises Baby's entire natural and wins.
Can't stream efficiently with my home bandwidth compared to my college. Sorry guys >.<; as well I'm sure mystlord and boethius have come to save the day so I'll let them handle it. On to round two!

I was referring to the fact that apparently double stargate is foreign or unrecognizable... despite a long history of two stargate PvZ. The influx of SC2 people that think they know enough about BW to make statements like that is pretty frustrating to me.
While I'm super excited for Baby vs Best, I'm also pretty pumped to see Tyson vs hero. Tyson seems to have some solid PvZ (aside from his defeat of Jaedong in the prelims long ago). Hopefully after his great performance recently we'll see him start succeeding more in PL as well.

Straight to hydras for Hero, just getting the spire for scourge. Zealots stream into Hero's third and force a pull of probes, but gets cleaned up without doing much damage.

Had I expected Tyson to beat Baby, I would have definitely predicted this win. I had a semi-reasonable hunch that this guy is a top PvZer right now, and this game really demonstrates it. I think that it's possible that Tyson is one of the top 3 or 4 PvZ players right now. When compared to the other PvZs tonight, seeing such a rape in the other direction is so refreshing.

GG Great comeback from Best. Didn't think he could come back after Baby massed up so many tanks (and was up in expos). I only hope that Best makes it out of this group now, otherwise Baby got knocked out for nothing.
Ok seriously, I have no idea what happened that game. Best did not seem to have a gameplan at all, doing basically nothing for 15minutes, Baby even outexpanded him. And then he just goes up one ramp and wins because baby has no army? Strange game if you ask me. But the stasises in the final attack were very sexy. They probably won him the game.
I know alot of people like Baby, but I think he plays with too much gimmicks. I remember gom when he hunted overlords vs modesty for half an hour with wraiths, just to loose to a handful of hydras.
More time to practice for the OSL and PL I guess. He had unsieged his tanks but just never moved them. I just can't get over how terrible that was. Best basically A moves up the ramp with a couple of stasis and baby gg's forgetting to move back his tanks. So random.

Why are people talking like Baby moving his Tanks back would have mattered? He had Depots at his min-only that would have blocked them from getting to his main (so he'd have to kill a Depot or lift). And it wouldn't have saved him. Either way he lost when he just got a little too greedy for a little too long. No excuse not to have 200/200 by that point in the game.

At the later stages of the final battle you'd be correct. Best flooded like 2 rounds pure zealots in and the tanks wouldn't have mattered. But if he had brought them back right away the dragoons and fewer zealots/arbiters still took a while to get up the ramp and do serious damage. He could have made it back in time to put some hurt on.

Basically it was reverse TvP. Usually protoss overexpands, harasses with reavers and other stuff to delay terran, fails at that and then dies to the first terran push. This game was like totally opposite lol

Honestly the Han game wasn't great but Baby played really well against Best. He was in complete control from start to almost-finish (not easy in TvP) and had he simply elected to mass a little earlier he would have won with ease. It's one of those rare games where the loser came away looking more impressive than the winner. It's really really too bad that he's gone just like that. One of those lessons he'll have to learn ... it's not easy trying to be like Flash or the Dong, who make qualifying for both leagues every season look so easy.
I think hero is just trying to mindfuck Best. Seeing 2hatch muta, Best is probably going to add a shitload of cannons while hero will just mass hatch/drones

Why are people so stupid about strange losses being "match fixing"? Best made a great and unexpected play that caught Baby totally off guard. It was such an unexpected play that even us observers were like "ok Baby just clean this up" before realizing "wait a second, this is kind of dangerous". If it was that surprising to everyone watching then it was probably surprising to Baby as well. Then look at his reaction afterward. Has the kid been taking acting classes along with training SC?

Devourers ability slows down sairs + reduces their armor which causes the muta splash to increase damage. Having 9 acid spores( which are splash and stack) causes the mutas splash bounces that deal 9->3->1 to become 18>12>10. This is well known.
Best used 2 stargate build in his last 3 pvz. Still all of them have been lost. Maybe he had good results with this build in practice, but on stage it fails badly. Against everything.
P.S. Zergs eliminated Best from both leagues this season. He should start playing terran.

PvZ has always been far and away Best's worst match up. I don't think anyone is really surprised he was knocked out by zergs. Disappointed, sure. Surprised no.
