If only he knew how to play both ZvT and ZvZ (as Luxury did, at least intermittently).

XD Whatever it is, it's HoeJJa's A-class MU. Indeed. He can be fucking good at it. Still, I have predicted Movie's downfall as a progamer for a long time now. Nice to see that it's becoming a reality. Haha yeah because losing to Hoejja playing well signifies the end Just as Effort's win vs Flash just means Flash will play all the better in the finals and Mech never won a single game (and isn't completely awesome to watch/play)! Seriously, Fantasy playing TvZ on a much higher meta-level than anyone else is quite obviously putting the hurt on the lesser minds among us, as they fail to recognize the familiar 'story' patterns (ie. m&m die vs lurks) - it's rather like a Godard film, if you think about it.

EDIT: Source: It was in the same show that Flash mentioned that he has attained enlightenment. You can find it in that thread.

I can understand why people thought this game was a big deal but they shouldn't have, and here's why: 1. A lot of people thought Effort fluked his way into the OSL finals, in part because of the tiebreakers. Maybe he should have lost the tiebreaker but the fact of the matter is he's been playing great ever since then and people have been so blinded by the tiebreaker that they've willfully been overlooking this. 2. When Effort plays his best, he is an elite player. He was not overrated in 2009 - if you actually watched his play you saw someone who was as good as anybody not named Jaedong. Lately he's been back in form - sure his ZvT looked shaky for awhile but he looked shaky in general. Even before this game he was looking like the same guy he was in 2009 - that is to say a beast who was virtually invincible against Terran. He just hadn't played ZvTs to show it recently (though actually he had in a great game against Fantasy but everyone discounted that because of "Fantasy sucks TvZ" blind hate again) 3. This map is quite different from every map they'll be playing in the finals. Even Polaris Rhapsody is more similar to Match Point than Judgement Day is to any map in the finals rotation. All we "learned" from this game was that if Effort gets a huge advantage early on, he has the late game skills to finish the deal, even against someone as good as Flash. This shouldn't have been surprising to people as Effort's always been an insanely good late game player but I guess all the Effort hate from the last few months has clouded this. We also "learned" that Flash's defense is amazingly good but even he can't come back from such a big early game disadvantage (caused by him being uncharacteristically sloppy and a BO loss). All in all, Flash vs Effort is likely going to be an entertaining and competitive finals. Glad that this game happened so more people can see that now instead of all the "boo Kal would have been better" BS. Yeaaaaaaah right - Kal vs Flash is the final that everyone should have been dreading, and I'm glad we didn't get it. dude fuck you kal is way cooler than effort lol Haha, Kal is one of my favorite P's but I just call it like I see it. We've seen Kal play at 100% and he simply lacks that "last 2%" that the commentators always talk about. Effort playing at 100% potential is much more likely to give Flash a fight. I think kal has the skills to beat flash, he's just got really bad nerves in high pressure situations. I was hoping that since the start of this year he's been far more consistent in PL and such and that he'd finally conquered his nerves and could move to the upper echelons of play, but I guess he still needs more time :\ I remember rooting for Kal in the Kal vs Jaedong MSL finals back in the day and being really impressed with his play. I felt like he was ahead in all 4 games but just wasn't ready to take down the Dong. But that was over two years ago. I've seen Kal play a ton of brilliant games but he's never gone a tear. It seems like all the truly elite players go on a tear from time to time. Flash and Jaedong have been on a tear essentially their whole careers. Bisu has had insane 100 game stretches. Even Effort has rolled off periods of incredible play. Kal never has. As much as I like the guy, he's not that young and he's never done anything to make me believe he's anything more than a very good player capable of threatening for a final every season but never actually making it (and definitely never winning). I hope he proves me wrong.
