Im a IncontroL student and i think it's a great idea... I never had a chance of been in a casted tournament and very glad that a few dollars whit Incontrols got me this opportunity. The way i see it is that im learning and at the same time i get a great scenario to show it... meet great ppl and get a little more close of been a progamer (thats never going to happend) So i think its great and yes IM GOING TO PRACTICE MORE!! WHIT OR WHITOUT INCONTROL!! gg inc... keep it up!! At least you are doing something for the community not like other Progamers that you don't even get to chat at msn whit them!

Getting it streamed/casted is really cool from a player's perspective in addition to those who watch.

Either limit the amount of participants by iccup rank (aside from Incontrols students) or hold qualifier tourneys for 'outsiders' or something. Maybe hold these qualifiers during before TSL is over and then when TSL is over you're ready with a player pool and can start the tournament. If you wanted to make a good tournament where 'dark horses' could appear, a tourney that is interesting to watch and does service to community, why do you limit it to your own students? It just seems solely a way for you to get even more money. "You can't join unless you're my student, but hey, if you pay me you'll get into a tournament that can make you really known like mondragon or idra. It's 'only' 10 bucks." Secondly, how are we getting 'good games' from C+ gamers max? If this tournament was made public for everyone (maybe even grant inc's students the priviledge of not needing the necessary rank/qualifier tournament) I'd have no problems with this.

It's not about seeing the best games ever. It's about being able to mark improvement in the students. The students can use this as a benchmark for just how much they have improved. Plus, people still watch games from CPL and CSL and a majority of those games have D+ level people.

These people have approached Geoff to acquire his services at helping them improve their Starcraft. They pay him a (rather paltry) amount of money and, as an added bonus, get to participate in a publicized tournament where they get to show off what they have learned and see just how much they have improved. Where's the difficulty? Where's the huge Incontrol conglomeration assaulted the poor, broke SC players? If you're interested enough in improving that you're willing to pay Inc a very reasonable fee for his teaching services, then you get the added benefit of this tournament to help you improve and to make a statement for and to yourself. If you don't, then there's no reason to bad mouth it. There's no harm done here - anybody who wasn't going to pay him for lessons isn't going to suddenly do so to compete in this tournament - and it's a good opportunity for those who were willing to pay for his services. It's a fairly basic example of good customer service: we have worked together to see improvement and now we are taking further steps to both test and help that improvement. It has nothing to do with organizing a monster of a high level tournament (which would be pretty ridiculous if you're planning it at the same time as the TSL...) but as a way to keep up the work that's already been started by those in this program.
