People who rush with zerglings off one base show me the utmost level of skill and complexity. I can see why they practice 8 hours a day for these scenarios.
I suppose I should just be disappointed that JD "didn't react" as people will always say, however I'm tired of seeing his only losses to early rushes, because he'll kick the shit out of anyone if it goes anywhere else.

9pool can win AND lose against 12pool. Depends how much damage you do with 9pool. Just one missmicro move with the 12pool bo can lose you the game against 9pool. Thats what Jaedong did :/

JAEDONG IS ONLY A HUMAN MAN!
did he "decide to lose"?
Ya, he let that noob win, stupid move tho if u ask me.
Well I'm just going to make a radically false assumption here.
Jaedong don't give such a fuck. He is going to be drinking only the finest barley wines because it his his birthday. He will be eating the most glorious of foods, primarily turducken and its seafood equivalent, sharmartunalmon. When he lowers himself to the mortal realm he realizes he has been placed in a game at which he excels. He dare not make this day normal. With a slug of his high-percentage brew fuming through his respiratory system and an extravagant slice of brutally slaughtered animal...s (plural here) all about his taste buds, he decides to please not one but himself. He plays the ZvZ with the indifference that only an exotically pleased expert can convey.
Happy Birthday JD. You the man so I don't care about your stats. You shouldn't either.
let me restate this, Killer has no multi-task skills whatsoever. goddamit there goes FPL. knew i shoulda ditched OZ. Killer loses his hatch to TWO FUCKING LINGS
LOL ZERO FACE AND REACTION IS FUCKING PRICELESS. KILLER FUCKS UP THE GAME WITH ABSOLUTELY NO MULTI-TASK, LOSES HIS HATCH AND ALL DRONES TO 2 LINGS, THEN SOMEHOW WINS.
On January 05 2010 19:33 ghosthunter wrote: That was the best ZvZ ever. If that isn't recommended...
... That was a pretty wtf laugh out loud game, but Killer played like absolute shit for 90% of it. Recommend to watch, but i wouldnt say it was especially epic
once Zero killed all of Killer's drones - he should have went evo right away - he had such a econ advantage he should have tried his best to make himself impervious to attack.
Zero, when you are building an evo chamber you're supuose to start your creep colonys a lot earlier, so you can morf them in to spores as soon as the evo chamber finishes. You had this, but whateva.
On January 05 2010 19:35 Holgerius wrote: Can someone describe what happened? I left the stream when I thought Killer had lost.
killer lost nat to 2 lings, and tons of drones at main to 2 or 3 ling as well, while microing his mutas.he managed to reduce zero's muta count and immidiately went for a counter where he outmicroed zero and didnt let him get spore up
That was awesome. Zero was like, sup i'll kill all your drones and your 2nd hatch, and killer was like, ok i'll kill all your mutas and win the game. He didn't bother turning around to save his base, and thats how he won, becaue zero had invested in the lings that broke killers base in the first place, his muta count was down. Killer did some AWESOME muta micro to avoid scourge that zero was producing mainly and wow. just strolled in and took the game. GOOOO KILLER
I have immense confidence in HiyA. In fact, I meant to do a totally ludicrous fantasy trade for him but forgot this afternoon while watching Zombieland.... Damn zombies!
Hiya's moving out with 4 tanks and couple of vultures. He has no antiair against wraiths though. LOL MVP lands his rax in Hiya's nat and makes a rine but cancels it.
Hiya manages to make MVP lift and kills off a lot of units. MVP manages to retreat 2 tanks to the highground though and kills off all of Hiya's tanks. Hiya runs up the ramp with vultures and takes out both tanks with mines though. MVP just got his 2nd factory up.
MVP just getting both his comsats out to kill hiya's mines in his nat. A tank takes a hit but nothing dies. Hiya's already moving out with 3 gols and 2 tanks. The nat's comsat is in range of the tanks.

MVP tries to be sneaky and sneaks 4 vultures out through his third but Hiya moves in and the vultures are forced to come back. They don't do much though.
On January 05 2010 19:31 Chen wrote: let me restate this, Killer has no multi-task skills whatsoever. goddamit there goes FPL. knew i shoulda ditched OZ. Killer loses his hatch to TWO FUCKING LINGS
Hiya has 2 tanks/building turret/one goli blocking vulture raids to his third - small confrontation above Hiya's 3rd, MVP has more units but isn't moving forwards
Gols without the range upgrade are defending against Hiya's wraiths. Hiya's science facility is up so he's getting +2 upgrades soon. MVP lands a rax at Hiya's attempted 5th so his scv can't build a CC there.
Hiya's superior economy kicking in and his tank count rising really fast now - for many minutes in the game MVP had more tanks but they were placed in static tank lines.
MVP's fourth is up. Pure vultures are taking out MVP's army because Hiya's econ is just so much better. Hiya has 8 tanks and vultures moving in to kill MVP's nat now but MVP sieges up about 6 tanks from behind. It's futile though.

Yeah its imba enough that they send out Hiya instead of Jaedong!
1 tank on Hiya's highground takes potshots at lings and Zero moves his lurkerline back. Hiya tried to snipe off a few lurkers but to no avail. Hive tech already up for Zero and nyduses are going up. Scourge go in to try to snipe the first vessel but turrets get in the way.
wait today is not actually jds birthday is it? cuz tlpd says its on the 9th either tlpd is wrong or fans are giving their birthday messages early cuz these games are the closest to his actual birthday?
wow, sounds like there are no stars fans in the audience at all, usually you hear at least some cheer when the winner's face gets shown after the game or during a ceremony at the very least.

LOL... I'm sorry but 12 pool expo vs 9 pool speed is NOT build order win. 9 pool speed still has a fairly large timing window when they have speed and the 12 pool player won't where they can do a ton of damage. This is especially true because the 12 pooler has to defend two different fronts. Just try defending against lings with speed on two fronts when you don't have speed yourself. And then after that the 9 pooler will have spire faster, so the other player may be forced to spore up, which would wreck his economy if he took some damage from the early ling speed.
Now, I just woke up and didn't watch the game so maybe none of this happened and JD had a huge advantage or he got out microed or whatever, so this doesn't specifically relate to the game. I just hate when people (coincidentally none of them play Zerg) say "derr 12 pool vs 9 pool the 12 pool automatically wins!"

I didn't even recognize Zero in those pictures on the first page without his regular glasses on.
It's because MVP sucks horribly and never learns. With insane APM, he still manages to do terribly. But fear not Stars fans! Sair is here to save you guys!
I have no real complaints about Hiya being sent out. I think it's good that he has more responsibility with the team and helping JD a bit more.Though I don't expect him to win everytime, I do think he should get more Ace match practice, as the clear 2nd best player on the team.
its ZvZ guys..the most unstable luck-based matchup. Even noobs can beat Bonjwas on good days, and that is exactly what happened here. Sending an overlord the wrong direction at the beginning can cost you the game in extreme cases
Feel sorry for Zerg players in general, they not only have to deal with TvZ imba BS but their own mirror matchup is unstable as hell

Jaedong had a death grip on this matchup not 3 months ago. It sure as hell wasn't luck based back then... did mechanics just catch up or something?

Jaedong needs a break once in a while. But I've realized that the less he plays, the worse his play gets. Or his overall play has just diminished for no reason.

I've watched quite a few of CH's zvz games, and genuinely his zvz is pretty damn good. Donno about his other mu's, but his zvz has potential IMO.
CH and JD had a pretty good game in the MSL on one of the MSL maps, forgot the name. But Crazy Hydra displayed some pretty good ZvZ there. Although he didn't win then, he showed that he could play ZvZ at a high enough level to hang with JD.
