Very annoyed I want be able to watch this one live. Great matchup though, CJ could actually give KT a run for their money.
Effort > Violet. I just think Effort is better all around player, and it is ZvP.
Flash > Savior. It hurts, but what can I say, Flash is on a hot streak, and perhaps even at his zenith Savior could not have overcome him. Tomorrow will not be an upset.
Firefist > Movie. I have been more impressed with Firefist than with Movie.
Luxury > Skyhigh. Luxury seems to be returning to his best form (think MSL) and that should be enough to see him over the line.
So, thats 3-1 to KT with my head, or 3-0 to CJ with my heart
i cant see kt losing this. violet firefist and luxury are only training for this event, so their wins are 100% sure. only flash wont be training as hard as the others... but flash winning vZ is per definition 100% sure.
i predict 3-0 for kt.
if it somehow goes to ace (flash and firefist losing), effOrt is the predictable choice from cj... so kt choice should be 815 with some special sniping build.

Mos likely KT will win here. I don't see flash losing, and most likely 1 other KT player will win a game, which will mean Flash >>>> anything on he ace match. I think it will go like this though:
(Z)EffOrt< Match Point > (P)Violet (Z)sAviOr < Fighting Spirit > (T)Flash (P)Movie < Outsider SE > (Z)FireFist (T)sKyHigh < Neo Tornado > (Z)Luxury Ace: Flash >> effort
In the other 3 games, it is very reasonable to expect at least 1 KT member to pick up a game (firefist/lux have a real shot). If that happens, it's over in ace.

Your predictions are Just wrong meeple. I can see Violet and FireFist drop their games, but sKyHigh>Luxury!? Are you fucking kidding me!? That's Just ridiculous, and is not going to happen. And since Flash will pwn sAviOr, (Accept the truth fanboys.) that will in Best case scenario for CJ equal in a 2-2 situation, whereas KT will simply send out Flash again for the ACE match and win 3-2. Basically, even if CJ plays on the top of their game, it Just won't be enough. KT is going to win. The Only question is with what numbers.

Try reading yourself. Where did I say that anyone had predicted sAviOr>Flash? I didn't, but I know that so many people are sAviOr fanboys, so I Just pinpointed that out. And besides, THAT was definately NOT the Point of my argument. That game is like the least important of the series.
(T)Flash will pwn (Z)sAviOr, (Accept the truth fanboys.)
???
No one in this thread has said savior will win. 1 said he HOPES he wins.
What truth do they accept? Are you another anti-fan because you have a secret vendetta against savior fans? So many wish he does good, some predict and go crazy, there is no meaning to the prediction.
I don't see the need for the stab at savior "fanboys" when most accept the truth and all know flash will most likely win?

I don't mind you disagreeing with my predictions, but please for sake of everyone who has to read it, don't blindly tlpd'ize your post. Luxury is by no means a sure win... he may be performing better than skyhigh lately, but statistically Skyhigh has better tvz than Luxury has zvt.
EffOrt > Violet Violet's doing good, but the zerg's he's managed to beat are Hyuk and Hyvaa, nothing special, and he lost to Effort 2-0 last time. I can't see Effort losing this as he's been on a Protoss tear.
sAviOr < Flash I wish Ma Bonjwa will win, but Flash likely will. Beating Jaedong ZvZ would've been comparable to beating Flash ZvT maybe 3-4 months ago, but right now Flash is in a class of his own.
Movie> FireFist Hard to say; Movie's not doing too good against zerg lately, dropping his last 3, but his play is still strong, and his reaver play is still great. Firefist hasn't played too much for round 1, but beat Best and Guemchi in the MSL preseason and beat Movie in the STX Masters. I'm going to have to give this to Movie - it's close, but I think his sair-reaver will win on Outsider even if it's a bit imbalanced.
sKyHigh < Luxury Luxury hasn't beaten too mant Terrans lately... but Skyhigh is slumping pretty hard.

Statistically prediction for the last 10 games is better than overall since Skyhigh has been slumping whole season >_< Also, I think Violet can if not win then atleast make a very nice game =)
remember fellow KT fans, CJ was the one who broke the KT win streak last time they must not be taken lightly. also :+ Show Spoiler +
Statistically, Skyhigh's bad at TvZ. Wait no, that's just from watching him try to TvZ. And on Tornado? No contest. Not to mention their recent PL forms? It borders on absurdity.
Effort's zvp is much stronger than Violet's pvz. Flash should rickroll savior, as much as I love the maestro, I don't see it happening. Out of the remaining two matches, both are pretty much tossups, which means we have a good shot of seeing this go to ace, where KT has a better chance. Nonetheless, should be a good matchup.

Much stronger?
I don't know about that. I like Effort a lot but Violet has some really good PvZ. To consider it MUCH stronger is a bit of a stretch.
I think Violet wants revenge for gom. Still not sure if that means he will win or not, but he's definitely going to give it his all, and he's one of the few toss out there who embrace the P style of lategame play that is an almost direct counter to the sunk/spore turtle style that Effort plays. I do hope this series goes to ace, though. Definitely a series that deserves it.
Awesome OP. Amazing match ups. NO mirrors. I'm a sAviOr fanboy, so heres to hoping he can muster to break Flash's streak. Flash is insane though. Insane good.
Of course, Movie could drop game to FireFist. so CJ 1:3 KTF But I don't see it happening.. Even though im a Flash fan, im more of a sAviOr fan, so im Really hoping sAviOr can pull through, after watching him play vs Bogus, i cant see him Ever winning vs a terran again.
edit: rofl, my bold names arent tlpd-ized.. such fail..
I don't get why so many people think EffOrt > FlaSh. Flash beat him straight up 2-0 last time they met, first time with bio, then the next game with Mech. And this was even before Flash has hit this untouchable phase, and also when EffOrt was really raping shit.
I want Violet to win, but realistically Effort is going to be the one to give Violet his first loss this PL season. I'll still be cheering for you, Violet, show us that sexy DA action again!
Let's be honest here, Flash's TvZ is insane, and the last time Flash and Effort met in a Bo3, Flash effortlessly (har har) rolled Effort with bio in Game 1, and then with mech in Game 2.
CJ needs to get their Toss lineup buff up. With Much in the army, Movie is the only viable Protoss choice and he isn't any good vs Terran. If it goes to Ace, then I don't know the stuff Flash will do.

Movie? He would probably just cheese though, which is insta-fail against Flash.

EDIT: To those people like T3 who demand everyone mean exactly what they say, I'm actually expecting sKyHigh to lose and EffOrt to take Flash in the best game of the year in ACE.
I'm really hoping for violet to surprise. Their GOM games were a disappointing rush fest and, frankly, I know Violet is capable of going head to head with savior reincarnate.
If sAviOr wins against Flash with defilers in a late game ZvT, i'll change my icon to CJ for a week - theres no measurement for how happy that will make me.

I'd like to see Flash beat iloveoov's 27 straight TvZ's in a row. Would be cool if he obliterated it. Make it 50 straight wins for example. Not hard for him.

Hey I didn't say Movie > Flash, I just said that currently, out of CJMovie's got the best shot imo.
Violet kills a tonnes of shit in the middle of the map and fights off a ling counter at his 3rd.
Violet barely saves his 4th nexus as its warping in... he's now got a decent sized presence in the middle, but Effort is on 5 base 4 gas and has a tonne of gas.

You can't be aggressive at all with this ling build. Especially when defilers are out. Effort can be pretty much anywhere at any time, especially with drop researched.

I mean his early game not his lategame :/. He just played nervous and not like his usual PvZ self
Violet played as well as he could. Match Point i imagine is imba zvp. the bases are so far apart for toss to effectively defend while zerg can hold off with lurkers which effort did. maybe if violet did get observer faster or things like that he could have put more pressure but it was hard for him to do things like expand to more bases and attack one area of the map without risking his own bases.

He didn't have the goon count to kill the lurkers. The simcities would have driven him off. The best choice was what he did, to keep his bases alive. It was a very almost game - had his first reaver popped out slightly earlier, had he kept his sairs alive a bit better, etc. Really, I think he should have split up his army a bit more, the giant ball is good when pushing out, but Effort's build relied on avoiding direct confrontation until swarm.
Violet just didn't seem on top of things. It looked like he wasn't aware of most of units at any given time, forgetting about a lot of templars and such, and didn't multitask effectively.

Oh well, kind of disappointing.
It looked more like zomg storming and intercepting most of the attacks. Too bad vs what effort did you slip up once, you die.

Didn't seem on top of things? Did you see his storming? I'd say he did admirably well against Effort's constant waves of attacks, however, he just didn't have the economy to cope near the end.

i dunno, violet had enough templars for the lurkers and effort had a small army since he split his forces.
I think it all came down to him losing the 4th (woot first reav dying TT) and sending his whole force to kill latest effort's expansion. If he sent a zeal force (which'd die but do the job) and leave rest at home watching for that big drop, game'd be in his hands.

Violet ran around killing tons and tons of lings with his early army, this was a great choice. Trying for one of the bases would've thrown away his army for almost no gain, while killing all the lings meant it was very hard for effort to kill that min-only expansion.

Storming his own probes hurt him as well, even though the saturation wasn't really THAT high on it. But yeah, that first reaver . The forge block at the fourth was epic.

He had a bigger army size, he could of taken 6 lots to top left and taken that expansion out while split his army to his different expansions to protect them. What violet did was instead move his whole army to expansions under fire, it took too much time and the lings did too much damage by the time violet's army got there. Violet was too passive, in pvz these days, p should constantly harass z so that z can't do shit like what effort did to violet.

Those 6 lots wouldn't have done anything besides maybe kill some drones. Passive/turtle zerg style requires a passive protoss style, it's the zerg who dictate the flow of the matchup, not the protoss. Unless you're like... Rock.

The difference is all those records approximate his skill/dominance, besides maybe the "youngest" player award. It might seem like no so stiff competition, but Jaedong's actually a pretty tough opponent!

Outsider seems like the map that Protosses are having the most success vs. Zerg on lately, and only because they're cheesing or using unorthodox builds to avoid the map imbalance
hint hint Protosses: Zergs have forgotten how to play against 2/1-gate openings?

What do you mean map imbalance? (22-17 ZvP across both versions fwiw) I wouldn't call 2gate on outsider cheese - it seems to be the standard build now.
iirc Luxury(?) even said in an interview that he thought Outsider was a good map for protoss.

This is a bit of a dodgy situation for KT to be in right now. I seriously have no confidence in Lux to win against any decent terran and bring this to Ace. Knowing him, he'll probably end up doing some sort of lurker all in or something similar.
I think the game winner will be determined by whether or not Skyhigh is dumb enough to not prepare for a possible all in or smart enough to prepare for it.

What do you mean map imbalance? (22-17 ZvP across both versions fwiw) I wouldn't call 2gate on outsider cheese - it seems to be the standard build now.

fair enough about 2gate not being cheese, but in all seriousness any map is a good map for Protoss if Luxury is playing on it

OK all credit to Flash, but I don't know if 3 records all related to 100 PL wins really count as 3 records, especially because there are only 2 players besides Flash with 100 PL wins LOL
PS here are some more records that Flash just broke

Compared to Movie's 19 PvPs, "a terrible data set", but if you'd watch the games, it's much more meaningful to see if they're good or not. Horang2 played good PvPs, especially on Destination.

He is rather forgettable right now, not many games recently. Cause he's "slumping"
I still contend that Violet played really well, albeit with some early-game mistakes... had the Z been of any lower of a class, he still likely would have won after that point (IE, anyone but JD/Effort/Zero and maaybe Calm). Firefist/Luxury played horribly in the entirety of their games, although Firefist's loss is more understandable. Luxury died to the same shit Flash has been doing to every zerg recently.

Oh well, disappointing showing but hopefully KTR bounces back. :/

Sorry Lux, you need to come up with some different shit. People know you're going to do some bullshit like that and all they literally have to do is build 999 turrets.

No it doesn't, but history has shown that Lux will use some sort of all in whenever he can. He's going to keep on losing because people pretty much know that if you turtle properly, Lux is going to end up killing himself and hand over a free win to you.
I'm guessing he likes all ins because such tactics net him the most wins against Flash and the KT B teamers. Unfortunately for Lux, other terrans don't play TvZ anywhere near the level of Flash and A team players generally know how to defend against an all in, especially when a player is well known for resorting to such moves.

He had a strategy of skipping lurkers and going straight for ultralisks. But Flash pushed out and killed his bases, so he didn't have enough gas to support the ultras.
I guess he just went into panic mode and started throwing down hatcheries... but if you think about it, he probably had like 2000 mins 30 gas, so it wasn't a totally horrible idea.
Edit: Or, as far as I see it, it was the best saving chance in a game that was already pretty much lost.

Didn't look to me like he was about to clean up skyhigh's push.
I thought Skyhigh took down his third, but regardless, he had to either cancel or lose it. He was way behind economically so he went all in with his 10 lurker 12 muta break.
Skyhigh didn't take down the third... and I'm assuming he cancelled the hatch to have more minerals to make those desperation sunks? I really have no idea. :/

im not talking about the last push. Im talking about the first timing push.

cj always uses savior to play the other teams ace's. they are always avoiding to get their "easy" 3-1 with savior losing against other teams ace. as long as savior doesnt care about his all-time record being fucked up its a good strategy. savior is team guy, isnt he?

According to some guy's translations in the livestream, he said that the 9 o'clock hatchery was bait so that flash would not suspect the hidden hatchery at the 6 o'clock. Unfortunately, flash had superstar sense...
Oh yeah CJ is back!!! It was really difficult for Savior to beat Flash, actually for anyone, but I´m sure he will win the next game. And yeah, sKyHigh get out of your slump!

And with Effort, Skyhigh and Movie winning the three CJ games, just in reverse order this time. If Stats were playing instead of Violet, the same KT players would have lost too.
Next time don't send out Luxury and Firefist versus CJ please.

it's a good strat and savior sometimes even beats their aces (like when he beated JD). He'll never be the bonwja he used to be but he's still a pretty good player

?? He didn't know until he was ready to expand and flew his CC over...
As far as i know, the progaming teams pick their players according to the map, then they send the list of players to the SPL. Then their list is matched to the other team's list. So i don't think that they can choose saviour to play vs flash every time. It just happens.

Well no, but they can try to guess where Flash is going to be sent out. It just so happens that Coach Cho is a genius, and knew exactly where each KT player was going to go- which let him utterly abuse KT for the second straight time.

I'm sorry to rub it in, but you were so damn adamant about it, that I feel I must. So a rubbity dub dub... I win
The thing is that CJ doesn´t need to destroy any round, they just need to do good enough to get to the POs, and from there, like Scotty would say: it´s aaaall over baby.

um what? how are they going to have more of a chance in a bo7? last time they had to play fricken nbs and snow, and now they're down a kwanro and much

I know! CJ was the deepest team till recently. If they still had Much and Kwanro, then their BO7 lineup would be:

They will probably send Killer out, seeing as how he raped fantasy and all,
Flash is a lot better than Fantasy though. Yep I said it.
Also I can't believe Savior chose to go early lings against Flash. Did he not pay any attention at all to Flash's game against yarnc? It's hard to imagine Flash not getting the bunker and not pulling scvs.
I'm thinking his plan must have been to kill the scouting scv with drones before the lings spawned, but the scv lived longer than he expected.

If they do, then Coach Cho deserves to be fired.
Backho is a much more realistic option against Flash. He is capable of taking a best of one out of anyone.
I highly doubt Oz's coach is not sending JD because of choice. There's probably a clause in his new contract that says he cant play more than 1/2 of his team's ace matches, which is why, if you hadn't noticed, Jaedong gets sent out for every other ace match. considering he just was sent out, Killer v Flash seems very possible ><. 1 closer to Oov for Flash i guess.
