What a shitty reason. Because its their job and they already make a lot of money doing this and it's not nearly as special as winning a title individual league which the three of them all have already. Now beating someone like stork is epic for any foreigner, while stork beating a foreigner is just to be expected and nothing that stork will be amazed about. Also more importantly we basically all are foreigners so rooting for koreans is like rooting against your own country in a world cup game. Why? Stork is my favorite player...I regularly follow him in tournaments. Many of the foreigners I rarely, if ever, get to see play, and I know very little of. Now, if it comes to a foreigner versus a player who I don't root for, I would gladly pick the foreigner, since I identify more with him, and since it means more to him than the foreigner. But just defaulting to a foreigner over a favorite "non-foreigner" "because its patriotic" doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Now, if you wish to do that, then that's obviously fine, and I genuinely hope the foreigners do well, since, as you say, it means so much more to them in most cases. But when it comes down to favorite player vs foreigner-I-know-little-of, I'm gonna have to pick my favorite player. And I see nothing wrong with that.

Now if you were chinese, then I would understand your rooting for PJ. Your reason is shitty. 7mk said it all, if foreigners win its a huge deal and celebrated throughout the foreigner scene. Its more than shock value its pride and excitement to see us beating progamers. Why would you go for koreans at wcg? O.o. Any more reasons?

The oldschool players actually had their own unique styles. Elky vs Boxer on Vahalla, was amazing. Yeah, Boxer was also a lot more creative than Jaedong. Does that mean that Jaedong has no skill?

It's not like every new player has a completely different personality... -_-.

Essentially, stork will feel shitty as much as the foreigner will feel happy (zero-sum) Another reason why your retort is fail.

What's wrong with the mindset: "I hope my favorite player wins, but it'd be exciting if his foreigner opponent succeeded"?

Now progaming is so refined, that if you don't do it right, you'll end up losing. Thats why its not just the foreign scene where they are losing creativity but also in korea. SC has become more of a macro play. PJ can take on any of those guys u listed easily.
