On October 20 2009 07:13 hazelynut wrote: -_-... clazz and i talked afterwards and hold no hard feelings for each other but i feel like my side of the story should be put out there.Yeah, just making fun of clazz with some tongue in cheek x_x; first off, i had broken my ankle earlier in the week so i was at a friend's house (he was feeding me lol) playing SC with my leg elevated above my heart (imagine playing like that). due to my condition i was not too stoked for the match and felt a little rude playing SC at a friend's house while he cooked for me. there was a bit (ok, a LOT) of trashtalking pregame so i was obviously annoyed at the Rutgers team and just wanted to win my game and get out of there. none of the coordinators could host so clazz volunteered and the game was created. as soon as i joined, clazz started the game without a confirmation of my readiness. it's not a big deal but it just got me a little bit more annoyed. after a minute into the game a lag screen pops up for clazz (the host) and everybody in the game just waits patiently knowing that a re can happen if he drops. after 20 seconds the drop screen disappears and the game resumes with me typing ".." immediately after simply to express my surmounting annoyance (for timing reference in case you want to check the replay). after about 15 more seconds clazz suddenly requests a rematch. the two possible explanations i could think of were either he messed up his build order (NOT an excuse for a rematch) or a lag problem (which i did not feel other than that one screen). there was no explanation from clazz nor was there a request for pause so i simply replied "no". i was already very annoyed at this point and wanted the game over as soon as possible (i was in no condition to enjoy SC). the conversation simply went like this: [RUTGERS]Clazz: can we re :x redtooth[cmu]: .. redtooth[cmu]: no [RUTGERS]Clazz: lol oaky - end - ok so he did have a disadvantage. but it was a small one at that (just a slightly late first supply depot). he had the potential to come back in the game. and who's fault was it that he went afk in the middle of a game? may not be his (supposedly his mom made him pick it up) but its definitely not my fault either. there was no way i could have assumed he "was away at the phone and did not play for 15 seconds". please stop playing it as if i'm the scumbag refusing a guy a fair rematch. i had no idea what happened and was not explained the scenario until after the game ended (with a bit of trashtalking and "dodger" accusations" coming from the Rutgers team). i wasn't going to give him a rematch at that point because it wasn't fair for me. think about it, i would have taken the loss had he won the first match so why would i give him a second match? | ||
