The iCCup National Tournament is back for Season 10 after a successful run last year! Last season representatives from nearly every major starcraft nation for their share of the ladder points. This season, ladder point prizes return (see below), with tournaments comprising of 16, 32 or 64 players residing in the featured nation hosted by official iCCup Tournament Admins. There is no ladderpoint fee to enter and the winner will receive much more points than a regular tournament, with ladder points distributed between 1st-4th place.
Either the country leaders will receive a PM or you can take on the role if you find your nation has enough players whereupon you can contact iCCup.Mai-K to claim a tournament for your nation.
Once the tournament time and date are confirmend by your nation's leader you must sign up on the iCCup Tournament Forum and then check in on the tournament page. Note that you may only participate in the National Tournament of a country that you currently live in unless you obtain special consideration. Players registering for tournaments in which they are not a resident of will be dealt with quickly and harshly.
General Information
National tour will be conducted by Country.
You must have the correct flag when signing up for your national tournament.
1. Prizes
A. NO PAY-IN. This means you will play for free. No need to worry about losing anything.
B. The prize depends on how many players will have for national tournament.
As mentioned above, options include 16/32/64 player tournaments, with ladder points distributed as follows:
64 players => 2000/1500/1000/1000
32 players => 1800/1300/1000/1000
16 players => 1500/1000/900/900
The GOSU ICON also makes a return, but is entirely optional.
2. Rules
A. Game setting must be Melee or UMS setting one. NOT one on one. The purpose of the National Tournament is that you do not lose points.
B. No obsservers allowed. If you put any obs in your match during national tour, that match will be canceled and must be replayed without observers.
C. There are two possible formats, depending on the votes of participants
* Bo1 until the Semi-Final and Bo3 for the Final [Lite tournament]
*Bo3 until semi final and Bo5 for the Final [Epic tournament]
D. Maps will be voted by the players, as in last season's tourneys.
3. National Champions Grand Final Tournament
The winners of each National Tournament will be invited to participate in a grand final national tournament at the end of season. The ladder prizes will be even bigger and the games may be broadcast on iCCupTV. We will provide each national tourney winner with the relevant information at a later date.
Please contact iCCup.Mai-K or iCCup.GhOst via PM if you are interested in organising a National Tournament for your country. It can be the National leader or another responsible representative from your country. Minium number of players is 16!

No observers, I imagine because many of the players may be friends or something.

kind of a ridiculously easy way to get points in some countries
for poland or whatever this tourney is good but in several countries this is free 1000+ points for some players.. you guys should really be careful with the rank-inflation, already seeing quite a bit of it with the regular tournaments.

The way I see it is that for most countries it will be an A or B player to take at least top2 spots and this early in the season they probably won't be at their maximum rank so this will just speed them along nicely.
If prizes were smaller, however, it might not be enough to attract a lot of B players in countries where there are only a handful of A and B players so it would be dominated by C players who would already be C this far into the season and would be above their true ladder potential.

it's just that like, 2 seasons before there were a lot of tournaments for points, a- was legitimately hard to achieve for most nonkoreans, even the good ones, who didn't dodge or do gay shit like matchup pick.. last season you suddenly had quite a lot of worse nonkoreans hitting a- through winning tournaments or whatever, i mean you can move from barely b+ to a- by winning 4 games and at the risk of 50 points, you might get lucky with opponents and get half a rank basically for free.
these national tourneys are a LOT easier, there's not even the 50 point cost of participating, and you award more points.. if norway were to hold one of these it would be pretty much guaranteed that either me oystein or whistler got 1500 points and another one of us got 1000 and the third 900 unless me or oystein or whistler faced off in an earlier round.. if I won, it would make me the currently #33rd player on the ladder and the only b+ nonkorean, and at the moment b+ would genuinely be extremely hard for me to accomplish.. im afraid the green ranks will lose their value if you guys just keep giving away more and more points for tournaments - I also think a- players should absolutely not be allowed to play in any, prolly not b+ either. if you make it like c+ or b- max then it's cool I guess.

Why does everyone keep asking about the Canadian tourney? Was it mentioned somewhere or are Canadians just really restless?
The Nat Tourney for your own country will be announced in the iCCup Tournaments forum once a representative of your country has contacted one of the Tournament super admins and given them a date and time that the community agrees with.

the gosu icon is a pain in the ass, you cant ladder on that account anymore (which is stupid because you just got 1000+ points on that account too) bcuz ppl see it and dodge removing it is a good decision

Yah he went 1-2 against Etude, who was playing really well that night. Knew he was good from the AusNZ Tours but he played even better this tourney.
