wow, so WCG Russia is happening then? I thought there was a lot of concern that there was no money for hosting it and Samsung didn't want to run it. I'm glad, I hope Russia can send lots of players too!

Jeez so many freaking Terrans, and the guy who thought he saw Brat hosting a C- game it could have been him since he is still in c ranks, or was 20 minutes ago when i checked.

Some of the reps in this pack are 1+ year old

However i really liked this guy because he seemed to be the only good zerg with Mondi + few more during a long period.
I want to see more of him.

almost as if they were pre-qualified for placing in last year's WCG...

You really don't know any of these players? BRAT_OK is pretty well known, he took like 3rd or 4th in TSL

So if countries were based off of StarCraft, I see Russia would have to be the Terran dominion...

Anyway, go BRAT_OK!~!

He hasn't had chance to qualify yet. He will play in Moscow qualifiers, which will be later.

The same situation is with Androide, Notforu and most of the others: they have to play in regional qualifiers, which will be later.

In one of the recent streams Notforu mentioned that BRAT_OK is really a monster player. I guess that he's perfectly correct and BRAT_OK wins Russian WCG.

Man Russian has such a good scene. Nice to see so many people playing and so many qualifiers. Canada looks so weak comatose dead in comparison.

Nonetheless, great job by the qualifiers. Sad to hear that about Notforu, I learned more or less everything from his replay packs - if he reads this, thanks for everything.

If you are interested, there is a pack of his first-person VODs, where he commentated his games (in Russian):

I actually have a question for Bifur or other Russian TL members, when Canada sent SC players to WCG we would generally sent from certain locations where the starcraft talent was a lacking. Thus in our finals there were one or two players who might not even play online. Russia has some pretty rural locations, is it the same thing or do at least decent players qualify from those places?

well, overall regional level has grown in past years, but still it's not that high in comparison to Moscow/St.Petersburg. Although there are always exceptions.

Yes, all of the WCG Russia finalists were from Moscow and St.Petersburg so far. However, there were people from Samara (gOgna) and Ekaterinburg (Rondo), who took 4th places at WCG Russia.

Nice that you remember him. He stopped playing Starcraft when WC3 was released and started to play WC3.

He was extraordinarily successful. He is the only Russian player (and maybe the only in the whole world) who participated in WCG Grand Final at first as a SC-player (2002) and then as a WC3-player (2004).

Is Brat_OK aware that he has SV's and EMP in his arsenal? He let 20 tanks get stasised. Well, he won anyway. GG!

And he is popular for his streams now. For instance, SC2TV Stream of WCG Russia was prepared by him.

gOgna being on iFU doesn't change the fact that you didn't give the right info. You said spx would be in semis, but he didn't make it out of groups. Also, gOgna wasn't in the OP as iFU, so chill out. I only pay attention to top division teams usually so they're the only players I can associate to a team without seeing a tag. Furthermore, I see three SR players, three fOsc players, and three iFU players in the finals... so tell me, how is iFU the only other team represented at the finals?

Anyhow...

Congrats to BRAT/Bruce, hope that RoX can also pick up to have A2 go!

Wow, this is so indeed. They changed the replay-pack for some reason.

However, here is the link to semi-finals replays:
