Jaedong passes, playing in the OSL finals. sKyHigh agrees. July, Shuttle, Tempest decline. (Dunno why?) With still one spot left, they go back to the Ro16. ZerO at KeSPA ranked 9 is the highest ranked of them all. ZerO agrees. If you look at it this way, it makes sense why no Protoss. Though, not sure why July, Shuttle, Tempest would decline. Maybe they're preparing for the STX Masters/on holiday? Or GOM just ignored the difference between quarterfinal/ro16. This needs to be in the OP I think they had to know who could come well in advance, and since July/Shuttle/Tempest probably had games planned for the STX Masters if they advanced, they didn't want to / weren't allowed to go.
The Beckham thing still puzzles me, though. I guess it might be Visa issues like so often with the Chinese?

WCG China is at the same time, so i suppose most of the better players passed the opportunity over?
another Chinese Netizen: Aren't you ashamed of taking a foreigner name!!!, They invited him because this game will attract many people outside of Starcraft.

This explains why there's no Protoss. Blizzard thought they invited Jangbi.
+ Show Spoiler [KT vs CJ] +Effort must have tanked against Firefist so he could go to Blizzcon.

A lot of blind rage here. Just from actually READING the posts, it seems all the hate towards blizzard is unwarranted.
Multiple people have said that it was Kespa, not blizzard, who deteremined which korean players went.
The chinese wcg qualifier is going on during the same time, hence their good toss' don't come to blizzcon.
About the non-asian foreigners... I suppose they felt that Ret and Idra were the top 2, so race wasn't a factor.
Yes, the lack of protoss does suck, but it seems this is the best we could get based upon what was available.

from the blizzcon main page, the map pool:
StarCraft:

With all Ts and Zs, skyhigh has good chances of taking this.

go cj!
same. Would have been nice to add a token protoss, but other than that I have no complaints about the lineup at all
