No idea what we can do. Keep in mind most of them wont show. That's generally how any sort of meetup goes. People always plan to go but then get distracted with friends/family/parties/whatever. Hoping to meet some of the more colorful people from the forums though ![]()

In my experience TL meetups actually get bigger, rather than smaller, as the lurkers and people from other less-cool sites show up. You guys have to talk to blizzard because there are tons of rooms at the convention center which aren't used during blizzcon. Of course... it is 2am... Maybe Blizzard headquarters? rofl. My best answer is to find a 2 or 3 story pub and rent the upper floor. 80 People can bring some serious cash to the table though.

Geez. Grow up. I mean. Just because people like to visit other sites more or not be active in your community doesn't make them less of a person or less worthy to hang out with you or other FANS of StarCraft.

We did pull 60 at the last finals party here in San Diego. You guys have to talk to blizzard because there are tons of rooms at the convention center which aren't used during blizzcon. I don't really have a ton of pull but it doesn't hurt to ask. [ninja edit for day9] A D D D A Y [ 9 I can certify that day9 makes any event 10 times more awesome.

Geez Psy don't be butt hurt :-) It's just that the less cool sites' people don't manage to organise their own meetings and show up unannounced at the TL one. Which is fine, every TL meet up warmly welcomed lurkers. Only thing is, it makes it really easier to organise things if they would just register and post in the thread that they'll be coming. Last time we had set up a bar for 40 people and like a 100 showed up.

I'm sure at least one hotel would be amenable to hosting us, even if it costs a few bucks a person to rent the room. I received a quote of ~$4,800 for 7 hours (midnight - 7am) and they were unwilling to negotiate. Keep in mind most of these places host real business conferences, not us.
