Hopefully this whole thing can be translated.
There's really no purpose for this rule, but I guess it doesn't hurt anything.

no i want to see more zizi yO

Interesting, I can see a lot of players typing ww/ㅈㅈ out of habit in the future though, will there be any action taken if one does this? lol..
|
lol, what the hell? KeSPA is cracking down. No more zizi yO makes me sad
|
GTR basically summed it up. The article is saying that "GG, gg, and ppp" are the only accepted forms of "chat" in-game and any other variations (zizi, etc.) are now banned.
|
That's totally lame.
I don't understand what this rule is supposed to accomplish. Who cares if they type zizi yO?

What does 'zizi' mean? Maybe chat restrictions are to stop them playing mind games. Though the time lost typing stuff probably really isn't worth it.

Zizi mean Dick in French language T_T

zizi yO is just BackHo's way of saying gg. There is no hidden meaning there, and I am relatively sure that he isn't trying to be malicious with it or anything, he is just being unique.
This rule is ridiculous, and how are they supposed to enforce it? Seriously wtf...
|
This is too bad. They should allow trash talk and mind-games imo. It'd make it more interesting and it's not like the opposing player has to respond if they are bothered by it.
|
|
I am pretty sure BackHo knows french.

Typing in-game was always never allowed except in exhibition matches.

Oh man.......poor Backho first the back injury and now this. I also see a lot of progamers type ww. What are the penalties for not typing 'gg' or 'GG'? If it's disqualification it'd be pretty stupid.

Imagine all the penalties that will be handed out due to koreans saying "ww" mistakenly instead of gg.

From the very little korean I know it also talked about changing computer settings and rules regarding the bench/booth.
With the help of google translator it looks like they have only 5 minutes to get the comp settings correct after greeting the audience.
Looks like april 11th these new rules take effect.

Jun Hee's claim to fame would occur in 2005 in the final match in his ODT group against none other than Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) on Forte. Due to the design of forte, the mains are very small in addition to this it was one of the first times Yo Hwan had played a televised game on this map. While playing the game Yo Hwan typed "Main is too small T_T" and Jun Hee nerves broke. He scouted every possible place for a proxy, his entire game fell to pieces and Yo Hwan stomped him like a USEast pubbie. In response to this, KeSPA created a rule which banned all speaking to all players unless it was an act of surrender or to pause the game.(http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=56044¤tpage=10#189)
I can understand why you ban normal talking, but banning "gg yo", "zizi yo" or the korean equivalents is just plain stupid. I do not see any benefits in this rule, most likely they are afraid someones makes a typo and writtes "gg ho" or something ridiculous like this
|
That's just stupid. If BackHo keeps typing 'zizi yo' it'd be pretty manly though!
|
|
so my hope of seeing one day " gg chobo" in proleague have gone i guess
|
i guess backho will have to resort to making zizi yo out of pylons

Seems weird they would rule on something like this, yet not make a rule about accidental GGs

Dunno what all you are complaining about o_O Like GTR already said:

god why do those assholes have to cramp backho's style =[
|
What's the point? If anyone surrenders using any other way, the outcome is still the same :they lose.
|
This really sucks, Backho is getting kicked while he's down...
|
Well you cant type gg wrong if you just concentrate typing it correctly. Its not like you are hurry to type it and leave game (you have lost the game anyways). Winners don't have to reply back (losers don't see it anyways because they left already) and they can always type back in 3-4 seconds later if they haven't left already.
|
From now on, every progamer should protest this by typing zizi yo.
I don't really get it... isn't the "yo" supposed to be a sign of respect?
|
At least we have the gem of a moment when Nada said "T_T" in response to HOT's divine wind scourge.
|
Does typing other things contribute anything to the games? Will maps all of a sudden become balanced if people are allowed to type something other than gg? Good rule for non-exhibition matches.
|
|
Do you get penalized for leaving a game without saying gg? I remember Nada doing this once I think.

Nada vs Boxer's old school game comes to mind. I think the koreanfans would love seeing stuff like that in regular games(it was a non kespa match).
Nada goes nukes very late game TvT and nuke targets a big cluster of boxers units. Boxer unsieges and runs everything away except one tank which gets caught. Boxer says "Happy now?".

How are they going to enforce this rule? For instance if backho loses and types in ZiZi yo, what are they going to do? Disqualify him? He already left.

What are they going to do if Backho says zizi yO when he loses? It doesn't matter if they DQ him cause he already lost lol.

This is a perfect example of unnecessary over-regulation. Obviousl the new rule has something to do with the BackHo incident, but it will do absolutely nothing to improve kespas handling of similar future incidents.
What kespa needed was a rule about how to handle inadvertent ggs, not a rule specifying the form of those ggs.
|
yea because if you type zizi yo theyll disqualify you as if it MAKES A DIFFERENCE WHEN YOURE SURRENDERING.

I've never seen a BackHo game in my life, what is that incident everyone is referring to?

Ehhh, I'm with everyone when I say this is a lame rulechange, but I don't agree with everyone who's saying they should be able to type whatever they want. They should just keep the 'typing = surrender' rule, and it's fine.
Normally I'd be okay with the rule, but here's why I don't get it: 1. They're attempting to be regulated and professional, yet they allow ceremonies, pre-game chatspam, and exhibitionism with nukes and pylon hearts etc.
2. Allowing things other than 'GG' creates style. Style makes people watch players. That = $$$. (I guess you could argue that the 'GG' theme creates $$$, too.)
3. I can't think of any incidents where this was an issue. (No, the Backho one doesn't count -- He would have just typed "GG" early instead of "zizi yO.")
It'd be nice to know the reasoning behind this.
|
I wonder what they would do you if didnt type GG or gg, maybe have you forfeit the game?

Maybe this new rule isn't so much for the rule itself, but more to say "hey guys pay attention to the rules."
Specifically in Backho's case, maybe they're trying to say with this "Okay we let it slide once, but if something like this happens again, we're following the word of the rules."

banning zizi is understandable, but I think ㅎㅎ, ㅈㅈ, and ww should be allowed since the players might forget to change the keyboard back to english or whatever. adding 'yo' at the end is also no big deal either and it is more polite, unless it's yO, which is like false politeness . it's cool to see people type ggyo to boxer when they lose :D

There are a lot of pointless rules. I remember in a school there is a "tuck-in-your shirt" rule... anything below ur wrist is supposed to be tucked in. But those shirts are hitched! o_o

They think it's gonna make all the little young fans bad manner if they see a pro type ziziy0 or something?
Seriously what was ziziyo hurting?

This is stupid. Anything that is similar to "gg" should be allowed. zizi makes sense because in Korean there is no Z sound, so it would be hangeulized to sound like "jee-jee" anyway. And obviously, ww = their keyboard is in Korean and they don't realize it, and ㅎㅎ = they're in Korean when they think it's English.
|
ooh... maybe this is why somebody from khan (in the lux all kill episode) typed ww and then typed gg after that. I just couldnt recall who it was.
|
Still about Backho incident, KESPAs decision was wrong and did show disrespect towards players (fans are different thing).
KESPA should make own decisions and not even discuss with players about it. For example, July vs Bisu disconnect or this backho case. Though July vs Bisu was solved better but they didn't need to talk to players at all.
|
I guess they have to do it for the typing of gg if they did it for post-game celebrations from FBH. Still, gg/ww should both be allowed. It doesn't mean anything if you have to say gg. Are they allwed to not say it and just rage?

There was no translation for the whole document so I went ahead and translated it (the best i could)
- Entry Method : Within 1 min of a match ending, inform the ref by document/paper. - Setting Time: Standard (After greeting the audience and entering the booth, 5 mins) - Always greet the audience before every set. - Once your entry is announced, you must stay in the designated area (team's table and team's resting room) - After sitting in the booth, you can still move around but is included in the 5 min setting time. - After reentering the booth after the match, equipment is rechecked. - Strategies could be discussed in any area. - When surrendering in a match, only "gg' and "GG" will be legal/accepted When not followed, this will result in an automatic disqualification and warning
*But, this will not be used in Round 3. *These rules will be enforced at the start of Round 4 (04-11-2009)

Um hell no I think KeSPA is starting to feel all badass now because proscene is much bigger than when it first started long ago. Back then people could pause game I think for any reason(see vid)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPz9J8IMpN4
This is stupid, bm stuff is what gets people excited. Wes Welker was fined $100,00 for that snow angel celebration, which btw was gay.
Honestly KeSPA needs to stop being so "We're trying to make it as professional as posible."

The IEG/OGN/MBC/KeSPA scandal is what broke the straw on the camel's back IMO.
This... not as significant but whatever.

In response to this, KeSPA created a rule which banned all speaking to all players unless it was an act of surrender or to pause the game.(http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=56044¤tpage=10#189) can someone explain this? why on earth would someone get unbelievably nervous when your opponent said main is too small? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex6IQdWfhf8&eurl=http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/games/7260_BoxeR_vs_Junitoss/vod&feature=player_embedded check about 8:30 could have swore that was the boxer effect >.<

The only differences are that the French zizi's penis meaning is in every dictionary and cannot be confounded with anything else, like urine in the case above. So it's very close but not exactly it.
