but i'd say, helping newcomers on their track play some BGH and actually let them build a base and a lota units and keep reminding them to build more workers and spend their money | ||

I like the idea of introducing him to the proscene- show him pimp plays and put a face to them. SC will never be quite as relevant as periods with real historical context, but if you can interest him in pro players and give him a "dog in the race" so to speak, he may be more interested in playing the game himself. | ||

How we got people to play back in high school was we would just invite them to a friends house after school. Then we would just get them to play lol, didn't matter whether it was guy or girl or whether they like games. Plus once you get one girl to play it is easier to get others, even if they aren't very good. But yeah, get his friends to play and they will help draw him into it. Imo, a big factor in playing games is whether your friends are involved. It can turn a bad game into a fun game or a good game into a great one. | ||

Ive never played Company of heros, but the total war games have very little strategy and is not fast paced, but it sure is fun to watch those dudes kill each other . Thats what he enjoys, not the fast paced and hectic nature which makes starcraft fun.To want to play starcraft, you need to have the drive to want to get good. If hes not interested in being competative, then hes most likely not going to enjoy the game. | ||
