I am in my room right now and it is still snowing. I do expect that the roads will be plowed throughout the day and night and I do not think that travel will be a problem on Saturday.

the snow in my area has been plowed in the morning once;

and apparently the storm says that's not good enough, and gave us 15cm + counting!

Yea it's snowing very hard here, I am not sure if I can make it, since I haven't had my G2 Long and I was planning on driving down (farthest I have ever driven). I dont know if I can come, I will see if I feel comfortable tho since I really want to :p

The event is on Saturday. Its Friday afternoon right now. Everything will be cleared up by Friday morning. I myself don't see why this would be canceled. It is not as if this is happening in 5 hours or something but tomorrow at noon. The city will be clearing all the snow tonight and tomorrow morning. I think everyone is going a little bit paranoid about a snowstorm that is happening the DAY BEFORE a LAN is supposed to take place. I could understand if this storm was happening tomorrow but its going to be over in couple of hours.

Almost all the weather forecasts show the snow stopping @ 9pm - 11pm tonight and then no more snow at all till Sunday 3am. They are usually really fast with the snow plows and maintenance of the roads during winter. I really don't see that as a problem imo. Everything will be cleared up by early morning tomorrow.

Some snow reports say the snow will stop @ 3-4am Saturday morning but regardless everything should be cleared up by 8-10 am Saturday morning. I live in Toronto and they are very punctual on clearing this stuff up especially since Christmas is very close and a lot of people will be doing Christmas shopping on Saturday and Sunday so they ill be pressured to have all this snow cleared up by 9-10 am.

I think almost everything will be cleared up by 8-9am and then the rest of the side roads should be plowed by 10am - 1pm. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Anyways, I am going for sure regardless of this storm.

The worst of Friday's storm is coming to an end as the disturbance that dumped snow on the city pushes out of the region, clearing the way for high winds, low visibility and blowing snow.

CP24 meteorologist Chris Potter says the heavy snow will taper off between 6 and 7 p.m., giving way to flurries. As of Friday afternoon, 14 centimetres of the white stuff had dropped on the city.

The main issue - primarily affecting motorists - will be grainy snow that blows across roadways and drastically reduces visibility for drivers throughout the night.

"That's going to be the biggest issue," says Potter. "(The snow) is so dry that when a wind gust comes up, the snow breezes back."

Conditions will clear up Saturday, but we can expect between five and 10 centimetres on Sunday.
