There are certain acts/events where display of religion, politics and such subjective and personal points of view that could be offensive to anyone are considered impolite and bad mannered. In some of those events, they might even make rules forbidding it. And yes, they happen in democracies. It is not well seen for example in sport events. It's not forbidden, but usually if you do, you end up looking like a douchebag. -Display of fascist symbols and such in football stadiums are supposedly banned(and keyword here is "supposedly"). -Club's owners/presidents are not supposed to talk about politics, thus why lot of people don't like Barcelona's president Laporta, cause he is using the club's image for political means(separatism of Catalonia from Spain, which is kind of a hotspot subject in the country). -In school, starting from k12 to college, teachers and professors are not supposed to talk about politics/religion in propaganda mode, and don't jump on me with the: "then what about politics courses and stuff?", because keyword here is "propaganda". Of course this one is very catchy and usually it is a rule always violated, but I've seen in my own university a very very conservative guy blow the whistle on a sort of liberal teacher who was taking sides talking about political parties. -In most countries, if not all of them, the Military is not allowed to make official political statements(of course they can have their strong opinions about it, but you can't go public talking about what a bunch of fags you think the democrats are and how the Republicans should take over forever while "wearing the uniform"). The violation of this rule, usually ends up in military arrest, with its period depending on the official's rank and the gravity of the statements made. And there are a lot more of other cases, all bound to modern occidental democratic countries. And it doesn't make you doubt about their democratic system. However, I'll say this: politics in Korea are pretty fucked up, filled with bitter vindictive candidates who use the big corporations to get even with the previous president. Oh, and one question, then what about the Samsung ceremony in the PL finals. They one relating to the Dokdo island phrase? They phrase they wrote obviously aimed at the PL title, but it is based on a very strong political thought. | ||

They're not banning all ceremonies, just offensive types. FBH can still do ceremonies and dance without being offensive. You guys shouldn't be worried. I'm sure he is creative enough to come up with something funny that doesn't offend people. He won't stop, he'll just adapt! Have faith on him! He just need to avoid some point-laugh-pelvic-thrust type of things and he'll be fine :p | ||

Not sure if my English is that good but sure.. Actually it was just my first impressions and a pretty stupid post, I will edit it. I also wanted to say that I only found some elements of the first rule strange, the others (except the check of the clothes  ) is decent and nice changes.After further consideration I can actually agree on that a rule that deals a punishment to anyone who insults a "group" for their race/color/gender or religious believes. But I still think it's sad that a rule like this has to be implemented  Why could not people use their common sense instead?About showing political views in ceremonies... i'm confused . I would understand if they wanted to censor it for two major reasons:1. Have a good relationship with the government 2. They are there to play Starcraft, not making political comments. But what I dislike is that they are limiting the individual players power to raise their opinions. Like for etc. if H.O.T. was still playing and he would maybe make a little ceremony after winning a game about SPL taking away 2v2's(which i'm 99% sure that he dislikes). I would accept that and respect his bravery for doing it. I don't think my example made any sense, but I just don't understand what this rule will do. I still think that the Korean culture is so strong that no Korean progamer would even consider making a hostile/political or offensive ceremony. There might be some mocking or funny ceremonies against the other team (like best vs Go.Go), but they are not that serious and its just a joke .The biggest problem with this rule is that it's subjective and not OBJECTIVE. There are no definition of what a offensive or political ceremony is, so that in one eye it might be OK, in another it could be offensive. | ||
