i dont understand why the foreigners are being matched up with S-Class gamers, shouldnt they be playing like B team kids? they obviously arent going to be beating top 30 ranked in the world yet, losing to sheer 700apm muta micro doesnt tell you much about the foreigners skill level, i think they need to pla lesser opponents to see if they can even win spots on the teams
Since ma jae yoon and jin young soo stabbed me in the fucking back, i've got no one to rep here.

of course they are not expected to win! come on. they are most likely looking for potential of foreigners from these games if not just entertainment.

See http://www.scforall.com/news/news02.asp?mNum=n04&articleNum=15 They are winning the right to be tested by progamers through some competition. Those with potential could end up on a pro gaming team. It's not about them trying to win or whether they win, but what kind of potential they show, from what I can tell.

well i think his point still stands.. these guys are not trying to join the A team of estro, nor are they trying out to do so. they're trying out to join the B team, so they should prolly be playing vs B team players.
I think that entertainment must be a big factor here, cuz not as many ppl wanna see Strelok vs estro fancy or whatever
personally, id rather see how they fare vs B team players, but I think I might be in the minority.. ppl wanna see NaDa/July/Kal play
I just remember Draco being a progamer on OGN and saying that he went 0-8 vs NaDa, so I can't see how sensible it is to have NaDa play anyone honestly --;

exactly, i mean that magma guy raped whitera with muta micro alone, when they are just total rapes it doesnt exactly tell you much about the loser, only that they are not at the level of the S-Class gamer. if they were to play the B-team players and daniel lee said he would like to see them play vs them then you would see a more back and forth instead of these one sided matches and find the strengths and weaknesses of the players

Playing against a top class progamer in a covered match is a setting alien to a lot of foreigners. Eventhough it's not played offline.

And I bet they are looking how the players are going to improve. Not if they win or not.

I am pretty sure they are also trying to up the quality of play among all foreigners. This is a way to do it.

The argument goes that if you matched them against pro practice partners, you'll get a better view of how good the foreigners are. The practice partners are still very good players and will probably still win by a large margin, but maybe the skill gap wouldn't be so big that you can actually discern just about how much skill the foreigner has

On the other hand, putting in the top pros against foreigners generates some interest, as we all can't get enough of pro gamer play. And I'm sure it's quite a unique experience for the foreign players themselves to be able to play the best of the best, instead of the middle of the best

If I would be allowed to choose 3-4 matchs / maps /players from top 30 kespa and anybody outside of korea. I think 1/4 of my picks would win at least 1 game in a bo3.

update: from here forward i'll be doing more foreigner vs pro showmatches each week. also, due to popular demand, we will be using more non-"S Class" pros. the CaStrO VOD is co-commentated (and the camera controlled) by Peanut of sc2gg, and is her first publically released broadcast. constructive criticism on that would be gr9. alrighty, hope ya'll like the 2 new games.
