Stacraft University is a group of Korean streamers from AfreecaTV or sometimes twitch or youtube. These streamers all came from different types of content, ranging from LoL, Pubg, etc. What the progamers do is they go around and ask if they are interested in learning about statcraft and competeing with one another. The ranking goes as God tier: Current ASL participants King tier: Former Progamers Queen tier: Fomer Progamers Jack tier: Former Progamers Tier 0 - 8 The owner of the university isn't necessarily always a progamer but another streamer who is interested in funding of the university and see the players growth. This seems to have brought alot of attention back to starcraft, as other streamers from different games increased the both player and viewership pool. And for smaller streamers, they get more publicity by playing and learning from other progamers. They also host starcraft tournament leagues and cast them live. People can join different university but they are also interviewed and see what that university can bring and for the progamers. They actually do live interviewd which is very funny to watch. | ||

Some unis have disbanded since, while some new unis have been founded, and roster changes on a daily basis. The list of universities and their rosters now can be founded in this site created by Chulgu aka Terror: https://www.cnine.kr/starcraft/academy You probably need to know Koreans or at least the names of these players to navigate this site though. But also, back to the namu wiki, it's amazing to see how many 3-4-5-6-7th tier leagues are being held weekly, I'm hoping an Asl comes soon where suddenly 10-15 new faces run over all the old pros. I can't rule out the possibility of Afreeca having some inside men pumping "virtual" balloons to the streams. You know, like I will give you 1 mil balloons for free and you will donate it back to us to encourage other audiences. | ||

Specifically dance streams with challenges/rewards get absolutely insane amounts of money. Its pretty much camgirls but with Korean laws limiting them to dancing and no nudity. But even outside of that psuedo-camgirl section there's just more donations. | ||
