-4번 시드로 차기 스타리그 진출을 확정지었다.
▶이제야 실감이 난다. 고향으로 돌아온 것 같다. 고향이 대구인데 스타리그 진출이 확정되고 나니 고향에 온 것처럼 편안해졌다. 최근에 신경 쓰느라 살도 많이 빠졌었다.
-You earned a place in the Star League as the 4th seed
▶At last, I feel like this is all real. It seems like I came back home. My hometown is DaeGu and after my advancement was confirmed, I felt as comfortable as if I was home. Recently, I was busy so I lost a lot of weight.
-저그전이 약하다는 평가가 무색하게 완승을 거뒀다.
▶ 나는 한번도 내가 저그전이 약하다고 생각해본 적이 없다. 머큐리나 비프로스트 맵을 사용할 때 스타리그에 올라가서 승률이 나쁠 뿐이다. 당시 상대 저그들도 막강했다. 한번도 저그전을 잘 못한다고 생각하지 않았다. 오히려 프로토스전이 약하다고 생각한다.
-You won a game in such a dominating fashion that it puts the opinions that your PvZ is weak to shame.
▶I never thought I was weak in PvZ. My win percentage is only low because I went on Star Leagues when they were playing maps like Mercury of Bifrost. At that time, my Zerg opponents were formidable as well. I’ve never thought even once that I was bad at PvZ. Rather, I feel that my PvP is weak.
-1, 2, 3경기에 모두 전략적인 플레이를 선보였다.
▶1경기부터 5경기까지 다 다른 전략을 준비했다. 멋진 전략으로 팬들에게 재미있는 게임, 멋있는 게임 보여주고 싶었다.
-You showed a very strategic game in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd games.
▶I prepared a strategy for games 1 through 5. I wanted to show a fun and cool game to my fans with cool strategies.
-토스에게 유리한 몬티홀에서도 전진 게이트웨이를 썼다.
▶ 방송 경기에서 이런 방법을 쓴 선수가 없었을 것이다. 연습 때는 많이들 하지만 방송 때는 토스가 유리하다 보니 잘 사용하지 않더라. 그런 심리를 역이용한 것이다. 강한 의지와 확신을 갖고 준비했다. 강심장이 아니면 할 수 없는 전략이다.
-You used proxy gates even in Monty Hall where Toss has the advantage.
▶There probably isn’t a player who used this strategy on a broadcasted game. They do it a lot during practice but in broadcasted games, they don’t use it too much since Protoss has the map advantage. I used that psychology by doing the opposite. I prepared with a strong will and confidence. It is a strategy that you cannot do unless you have a heart of steel.
-3경기에서 상대 오버로드를 보고도 전진 게이트웨이를 완성했다.
▶3 경기에서 센터 게이트를 준비했지만 웬지 하기가 싫었다. 그래도 준비한 걸 다 보여주겠다는 생각에 그냥 했다. 결국 완벽히 졌지만 그래도 했다. 연습 때는 한번도 걸린 적이 없었는데 정찰을 당했다. 질 걸 알았지만 어떻게 해야 할지 방법이 떠오르지 않아서 연습했던 대로 투 게이트를 지었다.
-In the 3rd game you completed your proxy gates even though you saw your opponent’s Overlord.
▶I prepared center gateways in the 3rd game but for some reason, I didn’t want to do it. But in order to show everything I prepared, I did it anyway. In the end, I lost completely but I still did it. During practice, I was never scouted but I was scouted during the game. I knew I was going to lose but I couldn’t think of anything to do so I continued to build 2 Gateways like I practiced.
-4경기가 정말 아슬아슬했다.
▶언덕 사이에서 계속 교전이 있었다. 그 시간이 너무나도 길게 느껴졌다. 오버로드를 3개 정도 잡았다. 오버로드를 더 이상 뽑지 못하는 상황인 것을 확인하고 이겼다고 확신했다.
-The 4th game was really close.
▶There were constant skirmishes between the hills. Time seemed to be going so slowly. I got around 3 overlords. Once I confirmed that he could not produce anymore Overlords, I was sure that I won.
-첫 스타리그 시드 확보다.
▶ 기분이 색다르다. 비록 스타리그는 아니지만 챌린지라도 우승해보고 싶었다. 간절히 원했다. 하나님을 믿지는 않지만 하나님이 도와주신 것 같다. 지명권은 크게 신경 쓰지 않는다. 강한 상대들을 꺾고 최근에 원했던 목표를 달성해 정말 기쁘다.
-This is your first StarLeague seed
▶It feels different. Even if it’s not StarLeague, I really wanted to win Challenge. I wanted it desperately. I don’t believe in God but I think God helped me out. I do not care too much about the ability to designate other players. I’m very glad that I defeated strong players and achieved my goals.
-조 지명식에는 안기효가 있어야 한다는 팬들이 있다.
▶ 조 지명식을 따로 본 적은 없다. 내가 나가지 않는 잔치를 구경하고 싶은 마음은 없기 때문이다. 팬들이 내가 없으면 지명식이 재미없다거나 안기효 빨리 올라오라고 하는 이야기는 많이 들었다. 개그하려고 하는 것은 아니다. 있는대로 말하는 것 뿐이다.
-There are fans that say the group selections must have Ahn Ki-Hyo.
▶I never watched the group selection. It’s because I don’t want to watch a party that I didn’t go to. I heard that fans said the group selections are not fun without me and telling me to get up there quickly. I’m not trying to be funny. I’m saying it as is.
-팬들에게 하고 싶은 말이 있다면.
▶ 힘든 상황들이 많이 있었다. 큰 힘이 돼 준 사람들은 누가 뭐라고 해도 나를 아끼고 응원해주는 팬들이다. 팬들의 간절한 마음이 전해졌기 때문에 내가 목표를 이룰 수 있었다. 돌아왔으니 앞으로도 열심히 준비해서 더 멋진 게임 선사하겠다. 언제나 최선을 다하는 멋진 게이머가 되겠다.
-If you have something to say to your fans.
▶There were many difficult moments. The people who provided me with great strength were, without a question, my fans who care and cheer for me. Because the fans’ passionate hearts were delivered, I could achieve my goals. Since I’m back, I will prepare harder so I can display good games. I will become a cool gamer that tries his hardest.
-차기 스타리그 목표가 있다면.
▶우승이다. 내가 있어야 할 자리로 왔다. 달라진 모습으로 돌아왔다는 것을 확실히 보여주겠다.
-If you have a goal for the next StarLeague
▶Winning it. I came to a place where I should be. I will definitely show you that I came back, different from before.
