The Project The goal of this project is to get the most comprehensive ranking of foreign players based on their actual results starting with the launch of Starcraft Remastered on August 14, 2017. We are incorporating every foreign event that has taken place. As I write this post we have finished the year 2017 and have gone all the way up to Bombastic Starleague 3. This being the first major foreign event that includes players from all regions made it a good place to aim for before going public. And here are the results:
Leaderboard as 01-21-2018 + Show Spoiler +
Leaderboard as 31-12-2018
https://braacket.com/league/SCR17/dashboard
Attempts have been made to provide a foreigner ELO system before, but none have succeeded long term. We aim to fix the shortcomings of the previous systems.
Features: - More detailed player profile - Head to head table - Exclusion of Koreans - Exclusion of walkovers - Inclusion of as many foreign events as possible - Eventually up to date and updated frequently
How It Works Glicko Rating System -So long as a tournament is from Smash.gg or challonge, the import system does it automatically. Otherwise the results have to be input manually. -Merging players when identifying a smurf/clan tag/other aka is easy fortunately. -The date the event took place is what determines its results' effect on the ranking, not when it was added to the league. -Matches from korean players are sometimes added but excluded. When a match or player is excluded it does not affect the rankings in any way. -All Koreans are excluded except for Scan who is only 'Hidden'. His matches do affect the rankings, but he is not shown on the leaderboard, head-to-head table or anywhere else. Reason for this is because unlike other Koreans Scan has participated in enough events to have a meaningful impact.
Going Forward How you can help: The goal from here is to continue updating until we are all caught up. Additionally we need help Identifying smurfs/other akas, adding flags, and adding events that are missing or aren't on liquipedia. Currently all that is missing from 2017 is week 8 of Pan American Team League and all of SK Teamleague. Teamleagues are the hardest to track down and BWCL/STPL will be included so access to those results will be helpful.
Thanks to DragOn, Shoop & RuDeGirL for helping make this possible.

Leagues/Full Tournaments List
This is the link I used to find tours. Also if there is a weird result like -1/-2 and its excluded it's because when adding a tour i forgot to uncheck the box for including a third place match. I then had to include a match that didnt take place to complete the tour (as opposed to starting all over). But these matches don't affect rankings or statistics.

Hello Good Job! But do foreigners include Chinese?
Although I know that Chinese players rarely participate in foreign events.

There are only a handful of events with Chinese players and other foreigners, so little point in including them

Hey guys, we are almost done 2018. If anyone knows akas or flags of these people, please let us know: CjTerry (played in zotac SA qualifiers) sjukungen (played in TL open) Santi (played in quite a few TL opens, clash for chars and some others) VegaNinja (played in zotac NA qualifiers)

2018 is now complete ending with STPL round 3 playoffs and BSL5. Other major events that year were Pro series and BSL4.

yay, great project! keep up the..."good" work

S53 results maybe a bit messed up due to the way we set the drive for s54. We re looking into it.

yea, I saw that last week, too. I sent a message in the BWCL discord but I didn't get a reply whether anyone has saved the scores somewhere.

Incorporating BWCL 47 now...so still far away from that :D
I was able to do some of bwcl via iccup but 47 and on is a lot easier
|
|
is this still getting updated?
|
yes, we are working on it continuously to get up to date. New tournaments are added every week.
|
Good stuff, guys. Keep it up!
|
Still steadily grinding away. About 98% complete with everything up till 2020. BWCL takes a while now with the 6 divisions but it's slowly being filled up as we do all the other events.
Starting 2021, which seems like the most active year. Goal is to be done with 2021 and all caught up soon.

Hey. Do you still need any Pan American Team League info? I’ve been MIA for awhile but send me a PM and I’ll check my Google drive for anything you’re missing from when I ran it.
|
Just out of curiosity. If Bonyth is the No.1 foreign player, which Korean player is he comparable to?

I guess the comparable Korean player's identity is not known to us - just because he is not so famous with such skill. Koreans are another world, dude

Sure. We have all of the weeks but some are missing matches.

Matches vs koreans are excluded from the league with a few exceptions; Scan being one of them. He is higher than all foreigners

What cha need specifically?

ALMOST Done.
BWCL 55 is the only major event missing. Anything that's happened in the past week is also being added usually within the same week. It's still chugging along and not forgotten.
Now including Chinese players (and their events).
