Starcraft music changer...

I remember there was a starcraft music changer which allowed you to change the music while in a game... Like if i was playing terran i could have protoss music instead... or maybe i'm mistaken... Do anyone else know where i can find such a program?

i dunno about a music changer, but you could always mute the music volume, and use the b.net music player here. you can choose tracks from diablo too.

There's also a program that can extract the sounds from your SC installation. I've used some of the sound effects in projects and videos before. The music is in there too I think.

Haha I remember changing my english sounds to the german ones for awhile for laughs with that sound extractor. Good stuff.

I managed to replace the toss music with the terrans tracks, much better to listen to while playing. The toss ambience kinda put me to sleep.

I just extracted the three terran themes, named terran1 through 3 (iirc) from the mpq on the cd, renamed them to protoss1 through 3 and insertet them into patch_rt.mpq.

You need to use a mpq extractor (such as WinMPQ) and get the files manually.

and open BrooDat.mpq and find the files, rename them? and then what to do with patch_rs.mpq

Find music/terran1.wav, extract to hdd, rename it to protoss1.wav.
Open patch_rs.mpq, add the protoss1.wav to music/protoss1.wav.

Repeat for 2.wav and 3.wav.

1) Download WinMPQ
2) Download stardat.txt
3) Start WinMPQ
4) Go to Options-> File list -> Add file list and point it to stardat.txt

5) Go to File-> Open -> Browse to your Starcraft CD and select Install.exe
6) Enter *wav in the listing field at the top of WinMPQ and hit enter.

7) Browse to the bottom of the list and you'll see music\\protoss1.wav music\\terran1.wav music\\zerg1.wav etc.

8) Select terran1.wav, terran2.wav and terran3.wav and then hit MPQ -> extract and choose a folder on your hdd.

9) Rename the files to whatever race's music you want to replace (e.g. I want to have terran music while playing protoss I rename them to protoss1.wav etc)
10) Open patch_rt.mpq in your starcraft folder on your hdd.
11) Choose Mpq -> Add and select your renamed music files from your hdd.
