I think Effort, Zero and Snow have the best chance to win the whole thing.
And who do you guys think will do better than they normally do? Will Mini finally play well offline? Will Best make a finals appearance? Will we see Shine’s bag of builds advance him again?

Snow is way overrated. Best is the best Protoss right now but he always chokes in offline tournaments. In fact, Protoss would feel proud if anyone of them can make the top 8.

There is no other player that has a chance imo.
If someone is to win from the second group a bunch of things have to happen: Like Zero losing some ZvZs, Bisu getting a nice favorable draw, Soma getting a road paved with Protoss etc...
Although this ASL is Flash-less I don't think the road to a title is as wide open as it might seem.
I wanna see my boy Rush to become ASL11ChampRush, guy is improving drastically each season. I wanted so much BeSt to grab a trophy but lately I'm losing my hope , there's a chance he will choke again this time.
I don't belive Bisu will make it far after last seasons performance, I don't remember him going out at the easiest ro24 in a decade. In reality I think it goes to ZerO, Light or SoMa. Light and SoMa both deserve it so much.

I think Bisu has much less pressure this time around. Unlike in the past I think he is THE favorite. Zero and Soma also, even if Zero has slump as you said he seems to do always well offline. If Rush fixes his tvp then I think he can go far. Same for Light if he fixes his tvt.
Queen (he is only ZerO if he loses), EffOrt, Light (only because of TESAGI) and "The Monstrous Progeny of Capitalism" Sharp who's another person who's actually won an ASL. But this is a Zerg favoured tournament and I LOVE IT!

Bisu can comfortably do it.
I wouldn't say comfortably but yes, he can definitely do it.
I mean, out of all the Zerg players, Soma has the best ZvP record against Bisu in 2021 and even he's at 42%. That's ridiculous. If Bisu's PvT is as good as his PvZ, he'll walk the league.
I feel like its of course close between light/soma/zero. However i think Light pulls into as heavy of a favorite as could be expected outside a flash god level player. Light has no real weak matchup. He doesn't have to deal with as much coin flipping as pvp and zvz players would have to. He's one of the few still doing very well vs protoss given the meta which is the biggest question marks for terrans right now. He has a lot of things in his favor.
Light has good chanches against zerg players and his TvP improved a lot. Not having Flash in this tournament gives him a bit of hope. Zero is amazing indeed and defintely can win it. Unfortunataly effort has problems with zvz and Best is not performing so good in offline games. I will go with Light / Zero

I remember that Flash video where he says that players need to really show special play when playing well to gain new fans (and buffet their income streams). Rush is living that advice right now!
Give props for Rush having a goal and sticking with it. I think he could make semi-finals. ASL always is spectacular. Maybe Bisu ends up winning a season? I also don’t count out Sharp after seeing him win a KSL. The man has potential and seems like the Mini of Terrans.
The reigning champion is the clear favorite, as he was last season. Zero may very well accumulate as many or more ASL trophies as Flash over the next few seasons.

Why would you say Bisu is not good? He is the 2nd highest player by ELO behind Flash in sites that track matches between pros. He has had 65%+ PvZ and 55%+ PvT in last few months consistently and takes games off all other top players like Soma, Queen, Light, etc. All aboard the Bisu hype train!
Watched the last several weeks of KCM Race Wars and honestly the protosses look like filling, being there just to add some flavor. Nor sure if any of them can even reach a semi. I'll be surprised.

yeah I watched it and actually wondered if I should mention that bisu shows some dignity from time to time, mostly vs zerg, but I also just watched kcm week 8 where larva mopped the floor with him. Protosses just dont look competitive anymore and I hope I am wrong about it

If you only watch racewars you will think Protoss is doomed for sure, for some reason Bisu doesn't do too well and other ones are lost. But Bisu is doing quite well in streamed matches
There are a lot of dark horses I think could make it to ro4: Sharp, Mini, Best, Hero, and Shuttle. Shuttle always seems to do better than I think he will do. And the others, if they don’t choke like normal, have the talent to place 3-4th place.
