Starting on the 27th of February, the AfreecaTV Challenger StarLeague serves as a gateway for rookies to reach the ASL. The winner of the tournament gets seeded into an ASL11 qualifying match of their choice (probably 12 grps in Seoul, 6 in Busan, 6 in Gwangju / Daejon).
Groups A, B: 27/02 (online) Groups C, D: 28/02 (online)
Ro4 + Finals: 07/03, 1900KST (FreecUP Studio)
Eligibility: No ASL Ro16 main event participants No former Progamers (Semi-pros allowed) No ACS Winners / Runner-ups No people restricted from appearing on TV (should probably need some clarification on that)
1st place: ~2,700$ + ASL11 qualifying match spot 2nd place: ~1,800$

Aw man, I'm restricted from appearing on TV due to my face
Are foreigners allowed to sign up? And what exactly does a seed to an ASL qualifier mean? Do you get seeded into later rounds? I thought the ASL qualifiers were open?

Yes, foreigners have been generally allowed in the past.

theres no way afreeca would pay them to cast players no one knows to the west. Also imagine trying to cast hundreds of games of kinda amateurish Broodwar over multiple days. I dont even think Tasteosis could make that interesting.

Right, 2700mmr players barely knowing how to play Broodwar. Sure.
Also implying that Artosis and Tasteless offer some kind of deep commentary on the games as is.

I would also like to shout-out the rest of the thread for not being aware of the concept of a budget.

Cool to see Parfume making it in. Been wondering about who this guy is after his many appearances (and victories) in BW Jeez Weeklys and if/when he will have his breakout moment in the korean scene.

total players in the group is 161 players. I'm pretty sure there are more participants, but could not show up as well. so we can assume about 200 participants signed up for ACS.

Have you participated in the ACS?
2nd place in previous ACS(2020 ACS Season 2). I'm not allowed to play. Btw, Parfume gave up his spot to Mighty. Mighty will be playing in ACS

Did Parfume state the reason for giving up his spot?
