Starting on the 27th of February, the AfreecaTV Challenger StarLeague serves as a gateway for rookies to reach the ASL. The winner of the tournament gets seeded into an ASL11 qualifying match of their choice (probably 12 grps in Seoul, 6 in Busan, 6 in Gwangju / Daejon).
Sign-up period: 15/02 - 24/02
Groups A, B: 27/02 (online) Groups C, D: 28/02 (online)
Ro4 + Finals: 07/03, 1900KST (FreecUP Studio)
Eligibility:
No ASL Ro16 main event participants No former Progamers (Semi-pros allowed) No ACS Winners / Runner-ups No people restricted from appearing on TV (should probably need some clarification on that)
1st place: ~2,700$ + ASL11 qualifying match spot 2nd place: ~1,800$
Map pool: Polypoid, Eclipse, Fighting Spirit

Neat! We need fresh blood, look how far SoMa has gone.

"No ACS Winners / Runner-ups" why?

Aw man, I'm restricted from appearing on TV due to my face
Are foreigners allowed to sign up? And what exactly does a seed to an ASL qualifier mean? Do you get seeded into later rounds? I thought the ASL qualifiers were open?

This probably means that ASL qualifiers will start at around 12 III 2021 or something.
Really like the idea of ACS. I hope it goes well this time around, too.

Yes, foreigners have been generally allowed in the past.

Again no English casting by Tastetosis? They'd rather get hired to cast Valorant than this..

Also imagine trying to cast hundreds of games of kinda amateurish Broodwar over multiple days. I dont even think Tasteosis could make that interesting.

it's still Afreeca that hires them to do Valorant or PUBG instead of ASTL or ACS. blame Afreeca.

Some people will complain when they don't know what they are even talking about :D

There's never been an English cast for the ACS, it's just not fiscally feasible.

Afreeca doing good once more.

Hope to see some new talent rise however last year neither Sea.kh & bishop & yoon & byul really broke through like Soma did after winning in 2019

Right, 2700mmr players barely knowing how to play Broodwar. Sure.
Also implying that Artosis and Tasteless offer some kind of deep commentary on the games as is.

I would also like to shout-out the rest of the thread for not being aware of the concept of a budget.
