He was giving a running commentary without pauses through the entire game (after the phone call), he showed a good understanding of the game, and he increased the tempo and volume during the exciting ending. I agree that the phone call was funny, but considering there are virtually no English commentary vods out there, what are you comparing this commentary to when you say it sucks? I'd rather have more English commentary, not less, and this guy has good potential, so stop discouraging him. | ||

He's got around 50,000 views on his commentaries (and counting) and more than 100 subscribers. Think about all the people that got to watch his videos on YouTube, that had no idea about progaming, since he's doing mostly commentaries on Korean pro games, he's spreading the Starcraft love :-) What I've noticed is that alot of his subscribers don't have other big SC uploaders subscribed. Meanning 'ordinary' (lol) people like to watch his commented videos while they don't opt to watch the kind of VODs I upload for example. The fact that he keeps getting posted in TL as well, in this way or another, also shows his videos are getting around just fine :-) Thumbs way up! | ||

I mean, I'm not one to bash people younger than I am, but if their attitude online is THAT bad, then somebody needs to teach them a lesson. But most of the time when I play people with such BM I'm just usually like, "OK." and "You're a pro." and blah blah blah; just to make them shut up. But honestly, this reminds me of a PvZ I played on Luna, guy had such BM: Basically he goes Hydraling, but once I get HTs + 1 Archon + 2 DAs + Zealots + Goons, he basically realizes I fucked up his contain and he just says, "fucking korean got lucky" and then i just reply, "how did i get lucky?" and he just says, "fuck you noob" and just leaves. This is the manner in which Superiorwolf was talking like from statix's post. | ||

If you don't really have much to say about the strategy of the game, there isn't really much reason to listen to an English commentary over the Korean announcers. | ||

Him being so young alone explains his behaviour too me, and normally he'll mature in a few years. While when i look at this and the other threads anout his commentary on this forum, i only see a bunch off fucking crybabies bashing a generous community effort. They don't try to help him get better in anyway, and make fun of him on the sole reason off wanting to be a dick. Superiorwolf keep up the work, but try to keep a mature line, don't be bm, and listen do the people you can recognize trying to give constructive criticism, while ignoring most of the people in here. Threads like this really makes me view half the tl.net population which i normally hold in high regards as scumbags. | ||

This kid, while perhaps not the greatest thing since sliced bread is MAKING AN EFFORT TO THE COMMUNITY. Ask yourself, when is the last time you did something to give back (except all this whining here) to the community? 99% of you really should stop trolling and actually do something, like commenting games yourselves in a better, more informed fashion than him (if you can). People who complain and bash people who make an effort just for fun are at a MUCH lower level than someone who actually does something productive (even if he probably can be a bit of an ass himself -- and I'd really like to see ALL the screeenshots proving what started the flamewar). | ||

First off, posting an old vod that probably was one of the worst of them is really low... Second, caliban and superiorwolf got probably some issues even before that, which lead to it. Kind of funny to only post the part which clearly makes him the villain. He sounds like a kid, and he's clearly not a gosu in sc. And? What have you done to the community? He's someone with a passion for the game, is that such a bad thing oO? You think they suck, you don't have to watch them. Am I not correct? After some time his voice will sound more mature and he'll be better in sc too.. Don't insult something he's pursuing after. If he never practised, how could he ever become better at it? This VOD was sent to me by an external IRC source. It happened to pertain to SC and specifically progaming so I posted it here. Attacking me really isn't the way to go about things, but since you asked, I've answered hundreds of game mechanics questions on these forums and the Bnet forums. I also have the Usual Bnetters page which many netizens familiar with Starcraft find hilarious. I've posted VODs of myself, just not in a commentating role. I also provided secondhand advice on how to be a good commentator in exalted's thread. This thread was never intended to jump on Superiorwolf's case, or spiral out of control as it did. I saw it as "hey look, it's some guy who made a video using limited game and league knowledge" and intended for the thread to end there. The fact that it helped spawn the Commentary Contest is a positive thing, however. | ||
