SK Telecom T1's Bisu: "Thank you, everyone"![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/m9gu3.jpg)
He won. It felt like watching the deciding set of a proleague or an individual league final. Through this time of joy and grief, groans and shouts errupted from the seats, and even the broadcasting staff was as tense as could be.
But this wasn't a final; it was just a regular proleague season match. The player that was sent out was Bisu, whose 6 game losing streak in SC2 put him in a tense and difficult spot. When his opponent Sea finally uttered his surrender, Bisu rushed out of the booth, victorious. This was the first SC2 win he had wanted so desperately.
Q: Your thoughts on winning your first SC2 game? A: This win was long overdue. To be honest, I didn't know if I'd win even a single game before the season ended. But today, I just somehow felt like I could win. I was more nervous than usual, but it felt like I would win at anything I did today. Something just suddenly clicked for me.
Q: When you weren't sure if you could win a game this season, you must have lost a lot of confidence. How would you evaluate your SC2 skills? A: Right now among the KeSPA players, I think I'm on the lower end. The players from the other teams are grand masters and they possess considerable skill. But lately I've been playing so many games that bit by bit, I'm adapting. I'll prepare harder in the future.
Q: You're hopeful. A: I think If I lost today, I'd have lost hope. Speaking truthfully, during the game I don't know if I'm at an advantage or disadvantage. I went into the game excitedly, but when I saw the Terran army in the middle of the map, I was so surprised. Thoughts like "I'm going to lose again" flooded my mind, but then Storm research finished just in the nick of time and the crisis was averted. When I play SC2, I get so nervous and it's not easy to make good decisions.
Q: You were shaking. A: SC2 is nervewracking. It feels like I'm starting out as a new progamer all over again. Since then I've built up a career but it's even more terrifying now than before. In today's game I made so many errors.
Q: SKT isn't doing so great. People are saying it's because you took too long to adapt to SC2. A: I don't think we dropped that badly. The difference between us and the top team is only 2 wins. Today we beat Team 8 and we can win if we keep showing this strength.
Q: Park Wan Kyu (rocker guy) came to support you. A: It's awesome that I could win on the day Wan Kyu-hyung came to watch. I won last time he came too in the match against KT. I haven't lost yet while he was here. I know he's very busy, so I'd like to thank him for coming. And since I win whenever he comes, I hope he visits all of our games in the future. I wanted to repay him. And because I lost a lot in SC2, so many people around me have offered their concern and support. I want to thank everyone for the win I got today. When I won, everyone was chanting my name, and I was overwhelmed with happiness. I won't ever forget this feeling and I'll keep going.
Q: Any other words you'd like to say? A: Every time I lost a SC2 game, I thought to myself, "Is it over? It's so hard to catch up" and felt so ashamed. It was a vicious losing cycle. But because of all the support that so many fans gave me, I was able to endure it. If my fans continue to support me so generously, I'll be able to show a winning form. Coach Doctor.K took so much care into helping me get my first win, so I want to thank him. When I was burdened, even the company officials kept reassuring me that I had time and should practice at my own pace, so I am grateful to them too. Thank you everyone. This is my beginning.

for some reason I think sea knows bisu well enough to know this...

So awesome that bisu finally managed to win a game, I hope he keeps doing it also and if he ever would lose hope I hope he'd try terran or something first since that could suit him better.

Bisu looks like Jackie Chan hahaha

That picture of Bisu is not really good.

Lol what.
Anyhow, I hope that Bisu can start winning in sc2 now =X...he seems to really need to ride on momentum like when he set the record for wins in proleague awhile ago.

If anyone deserves a title in SC2, it got to be Bisu.
Out of TBLS, it has been the Lees > Stork and distantly Bisu for indies....fuck Bisu why wouldn't you have won the last OSL and I'm not even his fan!

How can a player who is probably not even grandmaster level deserve a title...?

How can a player who is probably not even grandmaster level deserve a title...? He was talking about BW, where he was a top 5-10 player during the most competitive cutthroat period of BW for 3-5 years.

Sea could be an SC2 bonjwa and would still lose to Bisu. T_T

It's sad, Bisu has fallen so far that winning a single game is now cause for celebration.

These guys have been playing sc2 for such a short period of time.

bw matters as much as my foot in the current proleague atm. if u lose all your bw games but win the sc2 portion and the sc2 ace match. u win. if u win bw but lose sc2 and the acematch, u lose.

But so have his opponents.
And, to be entirely frank, he only won because Sea randomly and inexplicably decided to suicide all his SCVs against storms (like, bringing 20 SCVs with his attack, several attacks in a row), despite the game being more-or-less even (I'd argue he was a little ahead).
He is still, unfortunately, one of the weakest PL players in SC2. He keeps saying he doesn't like SC2 Protoss. Maybe he should switch to Terran. I feel like Bisu would adapt better to Terran in SC2 (and that Flash might make a good Protoss, but that's a bit different of a story).
|
Congrats to Bisu on his first win... Although Sea really did just give it away.
|
Never been a real Bisu fan and it was bad timing from him to win against Team 8. Still, I'm happy that he finally won and I hope he will continue to work as hard as he always did. His disciplin always impressed me.
|
He looks like Haley Joel Osment not Jackie Chan.
|
Thanks for the translation Kiett.
Form is temporary Bisu, let that class shine through!!
|
Sigh.... I hope this doesn't cause a "Bisu rise, team 8 fall" phenomenon.

I was more insinuating that the 'zomg bisu has fallen so far!' hysterics were perhaps a bit premature.
