Thank you Aren't you already in Korea right now? I mean, I could try to get tickets for you, but I created the list for people who will be flying in just in time for the finals and can't attend Ro4 matches. Yeah, but tbh I can't attend the RO4 matches. and I'm a foreigner have have no clue how to get tickets or anything. Unless you have a real reason why you can't attend, I'm not giving you a ticket. Also "being a foreigner" sounds like a lame excuse to me; if you really want to watch the last bw OSL, you would do anything to obtain those tickets if you were able to do so. Then I think it might be wise to explain to us people how to get a ticket ourselves then. Like the days of the round of 4 I'll be in another part of Seoul on other business I can't talk about. I might just e-mail Kespa myself and see if I can't score us 15-20 tickets for foreigners. Second part I'm already trying atm. If I can't secure those, then we'll have to resort to the last method: just show up to Ro4, be a bastard and pick up as many tickets (or beg for them)
I'll re check to see if I can't be there for the RO4 matches, if someone is willing to help me find out how to get to the stadium. then I'll try and see if I can't beg for 5-10 tickets.

I'm never going to see pro brood war live in my lifetime.
Just going to think about that for a while.

Tell your students to stfu about what will ensue in the class to their parents because you will be bringing them on a field trip to the OSL! If mine did that, he is automatically the coolest mentor.

Do you have a rough idea of when the last Ro4 match will be so I can know if I'll be available? Thanks

Just going to think about that for a while. China might pick up, you never know! China is really getting to be fertile ground for Brood War, [huge uninformed assumption] with tonnes of people who are probably on old computers and can't get good ones to play the latest games. If they really get into it and make it into something big the same way Korea did, you might just get to go to a China BW finals.
Otherwise you can save every penny you have and take a loan or something to buy plane tickets to the last Korea BW OSL. Not realistic for everyone, but not impossible if you are willing to make sacrifices. Make them soon tho, cause plane tickets get more expensive the more you wait, and a transatlantic flight is already pricey.
Other option is to organize something in your area where people can get together and watch the finals, which can be a great experience too.
Not saying it isn't sad that we can't see BW on our own terms, but if there's a will there's a way...

Hi I m from Austria and i will stay in Seoul from 24. july to 3 August. I have to fly alone because all my friends have no money and no time. I m a really big BW fan and I must see the OSL Finals because it will be the last and it will be going to be awesome. Is there someone who can organize me a ticket for the finals? Many thanks in advance

hey guys, I just read the entire thread and am hoping someone knowledgeable about attending can just synthesize the best answer: what's the best way to ensure that I get a ticket to the event, given that I won't be able to attend the RO4 matches? In particular, do I just need to show up like 8 hours in advance and line up, do something the day before, try to buy one off of someone else, etc.? I'm basically willing to do whatever to secure the ticket, but would just like to know what to do. Thanks in advance.

Damn, just saw this ... you have no idea how tempted I am just to buy a ticket and fly over, rofl. If not now, then never, right?
Looks like QANTAS has some not-ridiculously-expensive flights to Seoul (via Hong Kong). DON'T TEMPT ME.
Actually, it looks like getting home from SK is more difficult/expensive than getting there ... that's annoying, and somewhat conspiratorial.

Wait, you need a ticket for the finals??

who is going to the Ro4? TL meet up?

Ahh I'm so bummed right now. When I got the news I'm getting a tax refund I immidiately thought of going to Korea to see the finals... only to find out it would cover only around half of the airline fare (minimum £850). Is there no way fly cheaply to Seoul? x_x

Just going to think about that for a while. I know exactly how you feel... think of all the lucky bastards living in Australia/Asia who can get cheap tickets. I am really envious of those who get to go... At least I hope they make plenty of pictures and bring home plenty of autographed stuff!

I'm so stoked that I get to see this live. Can't fucking wait.
