I read the whole conversation and didn't find anything "silly" at all. He was polite and he asked for an information in the most direct way. By attacking people like him it's you who will provoke "confusion" and "chaos" in the future lol. But the random guy is "ignorant" (do take it in the most neutral meaning possible).
And imagine 2000 ignorant guys on what used to be nice BW LR threads where most people are reasonably informed, and thus can give informed opinion. Is what he meant.
Not to mention, intentionally or not, you rubbed him the wrong way when you kept asking about the BW + SC2 league, it's no wonder he is displeased.
