I went from visiting teamliquid in order to find a shitty quality restream of the korean broadcast at like 2am in the morning, to it being so simple for me to watch a game and past games. The scene is larger then ever at least for teamliquid and yet MBCgame is gone. Players have more personality then ever, at least they show more personality and yet the hype is not the same. I mean my blood was boiling during every savior MSL and OSL. Maybe it's the players or maybe it's us, as things seem more in our reach we no longer yearn to watch heroes rise and fall, and see to ourselves to be the hero. Or maybe as things become easier for us to obtain we ake for it less and so less hype and less viewership. | ||

EDIT: Ok found it Towards the end of 2011, rumors began to circulate that MBC Plus Media was planning to close MBCGame and convert it to a music channel. Although MBCGame representatives denied that any certain decision had been made, MBC Plus Media would eventually file for an official channel change to be completed in February of 2012. Some pointed to declining ratings as the reason for the decision, as both OnGameNet and MBCGame had struggled to retain their peak audiences from the mid 2000's. Others suggested that the image of professional Starcraft had taken too big a hit from the match-fixing scandal of 2010, and that MBC Plus Media had lost interest in supporting professional gaming.
