They're in the preparation phase. Doesn't say anything about KCC approval. Maybe they'll get the final approval, I don't know. Just wait and see. Kespa need to move MSL to another channel. and proleague.

Yeah, just wait and see. It's not that I'm incredibly optimistic but being negative doesn't really achieve anything. It's August, the month of terrible news for BW. I hope Kespa is working overtime on this because SF PL, Tekken etc can't all be broadcasted on OGN.

Maybe OGN will broadcast all PL games, maybe they will delay the start of PL, who knows. They have a habit of announcing things at the last minute (and this applies to a lot of other Korean channels too, not just game channels). I hope they can find an adequate solution.

They really need to focus on big, financially well-off corporations that have interest in consumers and/or young people. Rumour is that Jinair is in negotiations. But it's just a rumour I found by googling certain key words. No real evidence.

Just like all such things, once the craze for these reality shows and stuff dies down, MBC will be crawling back to BW, for lasting quality entertainment. I think MBC thinks BW was a fad. Look at all the teams falling out, it's only a matter of time.

They don't think BW is a fad, if not they would not have invested 10 years in this channel. The CEO who took over MBCplus last year wants to latch onto the kpop wave, it's cheaper to convert an existing channel rather than starting a new channel so unfortunately MBCGame, with its niche market, is facing the axe. And btw, it's not just about BW. MBCGame broadcasts other games/leagues as well.

Yeah, instead of thinking the worst is going to happen how about we try to do stuff that is positive. For example, see my signature. ._. First ever time I plugged myself <<shrug>>

I wonder if any of them had approached Korean Air or Shinhan Bank about all this. Or even Hite. They are familiar with the BW scene and have been supporting Korean BW for a long time. If kespa made an offer or tradeoff (say, lowering sponsorship costs in exchange for running a small team) that could work. Shinhan Hero or Jinair Soul sounds hopeful. But that is only my personal speculation, it must obviously be a lot harder in real life..

Anyway, let's hope this helps OGN, so they don't switch too.

And this describes the deeper problem - that Shinhan and Korean Air are both State owned/subsidized companies, so their sponsorship does not reflect actual private demand for sponsoring BW scene. In effect - the existance of such state entities prevents the production of the esports from being bid according to the demand schedules of private market participants, which would reflect the actual real world situation.

Korean Air is a subsidiary of the Hanjin Group, not the Korean government. I don't see what the problem is for Jinair to own a team and sponsor 1 tournament at the same time. Edit: Since when was Shinhan Financial Group state owned?
