Hello everyone, The "Foreigners To Korean Clans Program" (FTKCP) is now being RELAUNCHED today, the program was put on hold for a long time due to the fact that all of the USWest Korean clans were in the midst of a transition to Fish server at that time so starting the program then didn't work, but now the time has come. And this time it is going to be hitting more full swing then last time, as a clan will be found for anyone and everyone, there are some exceptions, if you think you might not be able to apply to this program then view the player list of exceptions to see if your name is on the list.

So far there is 2 Korean clans on Fish server that will be accepting Foreigners ( non - koreans ) to join there clans, the list will be updated as many clan leaders on Fish like the idea of a unification between Foreign and Korean communities, there is a lot of players on Fish that are helping a lot with the progression of this as well so it is now heading a very positive direction.
The only thing is that of course some of the clans that will be changing regulations and will now be accepting foreign players, do have a ladder regulation just like the korean players, but there will also be clans added that don't have such strict regulations, the point of getting the top tier korean clans to accept foreigners even with ladder score regulation is to influence others, please understand.

ahh yea i meant to add this, I started off in one of the lowest clans on West, a.Die_ a clan that posed n.Die_ ( LOL ), then went to [TOp] -> Neo.G_ -> [aLive] -> [SKT] -> [ArnC] -> now Ever) , so yea i moved around over the course of say 5-6 years, but clans died, people left clans and i followed, regardless along the way the koreans are very nice people. Start off in one of the clans I'm bringing forth now, if things don't work out or something then move on and hope to join the next clan, once you are in one fairly noteable korean clan you will have a shot at any if you prove you can improve, are gm, and are active, anything is possible. Impossible is nothing. ^^

how do i read korean if it comes up as ???????? (that is what it auctally shows me. I don't have a xp cd btw)

I think this is a very good idea and I would be very interested in giving this a go as I am very bad at broodwar but with no skill requirement this allows me to play with better players and get better

I have to see you play first. If you're actual decent and competent of the game and I see some potential, I can get you test games. Not saying you have to win the test games, but it's just for formality from the korean clans -- usually how they do it...

tbh i'm not sure what your helping with, your offering to look at someone replays, or are you offering to help one get into the clans baring they are good enough

well its 1 am at the moment and the people from KHAN and Never. are still sleeping or busy atm, just PM me your contact info and i will work things out with the clan leaders as soon as i talk to them, and get everyone in the clans, I dont know if I'll be able to stay up much longer but regardless we'll get things worked out soon.
Op KHANCLAN and Op NeveR- are the channels, feel free to go and talk to the leaders, i'm sure they will let ppl in without me just say telecom sent you, but if not then you will have to wait till i can speak to them!

If this is SuGo, you were never good enough for By, clan either, but you got in because you hosted a bot. That's the same way Telecom got into all these clans too. _V_ and InteR. will let in anyone good who has reached B/B+/A- iCCup, but By will only let in anyone who's reached A/A+ and did well in test games.

Funny, because everyone knows By.Denial hosts their bot and always has. I never have.

I hit A- last iccup season and just had a 1hour PvP with KT.MGW)Emotion. Are those the only teams that recruit? Also, how did OyA get into NeO.G ^^? (just curious)
As someone mentioned I also just want a clan that is active and people to talk to, yet looking to improve as iccup is completely dead(would like to play more than 1 game an hour/day)

I was 1415 on Fish, but I just get bored when 99.99% of the players speak 0 english. This west thing seems like you could actually learn a little korean or they will speak english.

why would u wanna talk to people. The amount of english between the good players (aka koreans) is the same between west and fish. I run into heaps of people who speak english,a dn they're usually really friendly

I think it is important to have a place for us foreigners. iCCup is a fantastic server, and it would be much easier to find games if everyone on Bnet joined iCCup instead. (not that I've ever had a problem finding games, but I've heard other people do)

I think each server serves a purpose for us. Myself anyways, i play on each server, and enjoy all of them for different reasons.
ICCup for me will always be the one I go to casually and play for fun or meet up with people to watch reps and obs games and such.
Fish and brain will always be the places I go to practice more hardcore, and grind matches.
battle net (all of them) will be more of a chit chat place. with lurking in clanby and such for fun. and playing games against the koreans there are hard anyways, so i do practice casually there.

It is pretty hard for me to communicate with the koreans sometimes but i'm working on getting someone who can translate what i'm trying to do w/ them 100%, because a lot of the clans and people i'm trying to work with don't really speak english and I can't speak korean very well , it is going to take a little time just because of the timezone differences.
West is where these clans meet, but it would be really fun to set up a clan on iccup I think for training purposes too . :-P

well so far Nv clan is only clan recruiting, had to back out of thing w/ KHAN right now cuz of mis understanding, but still thats good, the people at Nv are friendly. Hoping to get more soon, sorry it's taking some time .

These are two totally different things.
- Many BW players switched to SC2, so the amount of players on Iccup decreased a lot, and almost all top foreigners switched.
- Koreans know that BW is far more interesting to watch than SC2 both because of the game itself (excellent post there about it; http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=213083) and because of the tournaments themselves (which could be one of the reason the Blizz/KeSPA conflict ended, even though GOMTv still owns the SC2 rights for two years, but lets wait and see)
But you still have a point, because many players switched from BW to SC2, but after SC2's semi failure in Korea (it's not even in the top 20 games played in PC bangs), it seems they didn't switch back to BW.

Yea there probably are some on brainclan, anyways guys there is an update, a new clan involved.. [Manner] clan on uswest ( not on iccup ) , channel : Op manner- , not sure how new and I don't know much yet but he said he will accept foreigners, just so you all know, so there is 2 clans again now.

Taking players and moving them to Uswest would make it even worse. Also Iccup regularly has 600+ players online. While Fish server has 8000+ and is primarily Korean.

Well tbh i agree with zerG. its not he is trying to take away from iccup. its just giving people a new group to talk to.
Ever think about the chances that maybe the Koreans come to ICCup? maybe with more westernsers. maybe we can convince them to come and check out iccup.

no I stated this, that manner is not manner] on iccup, I'm not sure the skill level but they are all gm, and both are active clans, i'd imagine all of them are above C- :-P ....... i'll try to get more info on they're skill levels but i'm pretty sure they are all decent

most koreans know about iccup, infact most of the top players used to play there a lot 'cause of the high ammount of other progamers and lan latency online, but iccup stopped updating the map pool so most don't go there any more. at least that's what I read somewhere anyway.

A fam is similar to a clan, but it's mostly just fun stuff, not competitive etc... lots of team games, etc...

All of the korean clans that I am going to be attempting to work with are ALL on Fish server, USWest is 100% dead now, all of the USWest clans moved to Fish, it is going to take me a few days / a week to get all of the information I need ( what clans will / will not allow such a thing as a foreigner to korean clan program, in order to help the BW foreign , and BW scene all together ) I will re update the OP and post updates frequently, once again thanks for you're interest everyone.

i think its a good idea if we sent some good lv foreigns to try join them, so atleast they know where not trash

Old OPs can't be edited past a certain point, I reset the activation so it should work now.

Hopefully with integration you'll be able to have higher level of player or at least that is the hope for future tournaments. Should help out Gambit, and any individual leagues with foreigners in them because now they will have some awesome practice partners. I wonder how people will get around the language barrier among the server and their clan mates?

Sorry about the delay with this, I actually had some extremely bad internet problems ( was unable to get online ), for the past few weeks, I am on fine now though and will begin working on this again tonight, once again sorry about the delay, internet problems really messed me up lately. T_T

THE FOREIGNERS TO KOREAN CLAN PROGRAM ( FTKCP ) HAS BEEN REVAMPED, AND IS BEING RELAUNCHED TODAY, Will begin taking names now and joining players into clans will start in a few days to 1week max. Thanks for your patience and my apologies for the long wait, OP is updated with all the information, completely revamped.
Now it is way brighter of a future for this program, and for the Foreign and Korean communities, because after some time there will be a larger sense of foreigners on Fish and a larger sense of unification due to this program(That is what we are hoping) , in collaboration with a lot of Korean players on Fish, I bring to you the Foreigners to Korean clans Volume 2.
OP is updated, all names after page 7 will be written down in preperation to be found a new korean clan, family, home, team and place where you can reside in on fish and easily find games with friendly korean players.
EDIT : I am not sure if I should make a new thread but I think we can keep this one.

I couple of questions. Is it just the same korean clans recruiting, or how is it so? What entails in the application procedure? How much knowledge of korean is requireed? And damn it, how to get korean to work in my bw?

I dont understand the point of having this program when every clan accepts players who are above 1300 fish ladder even when they are non-korean. They might need a translator, but most Koreans love to speak English with foreigners, so that could not be a big deal.

Well the point of the having clans like [WHITE] and Ever) in the program is to influence all of the other clans on Fish, not every Korean clan accepts foreigners, like Ever) for example, I am the only non korean in Ever), there has never been any another foreigner in Ever), but I talked to the master and he will let other foreigners in if they have a high ladder score, it doesn't exactly have to be 1300, and if I said the player is good, got him test games and he did well, then he could most likely join Ever), [WHITE] everyone has to have 1300 ladder score to join regardless, but with a little co ordination Non koreans might not know they can do it or its there, and Koreans clans wont have the incentive to just search for Foreigners, so this is acting like a middle man to help solve the language barriers and communication errors, which is why there hasn't been much of a unification between communities in the first place.
I don't think it is a very difficult concept to grasp why this program would be good, this is a good thing , not a bad thing.

- It is mainly Mc. clan starting out, and 33Up clan as well most likely but still in talks with them, and also throwing in gosu top tier korean clans in the mix to give top tier foreigners incentive to join them, and also to give other korean clans more incentive to want to join in the program, the more the merrier.
- The application procedure is just list your name, age, ID on Fish, how active you are, ICCup / PGT / Fish rank, post it all here like so and in a few days to 1 week we will start joining players accordingly. I am writing names down starting now.

-you go to control panel - Languages - turn everything to korean after installing east asian languages I believe. I don't think any knowledge of korean will be required to join the clans, but showing interest in learning korean is a huge plus and will make any korean respect you more.
EDIT : More clans will be being added periodically as well people, so just remember we will not be limited to Mc. clan, that is just the main launch FTKCP clan. Mc. clan is the main launch clan because I am good friends with one of the members.

If you want late at night ( EST for me) if you see Mc.Mon on Fish tell him TelecoM sent you, he will take care of you there if you are in a rush and see him online. But he said he will not be online probably for a few days, thats why I am collecting names to prepare for it.

There is A LOT of progress being made right now, I am working on new clans being added, and I just worked out a deal with the leader of Ever) to make it easier for Foreigners to join, which is a huge deal as Ever) is one of the best clans that have ever existed, and they recently won the SPECIAL LEAGUE on Fish. I am not sure how I am going to do this yet, might have to it by rank or maybe host a tournament, more info soon.
